Don't ask Robin. She doesn't know--not, at least, until the bizarre discovery of an old high-school ring propels her to ditch New York for a tiny Nova Scotian fishing village. In her quest to solve the mystery behind the ring's origin, Robin finds more than a renewed joie de vivre. She discovers love, the truth of her own background--and the shocking secret that helped make her mother a star.

It's about a teenager who is sort of depressed because she has a mother who's sort of like Oprah, but not very caring. The girl finds out that her mother has a secret past, so she goes to this little place in Nova Scotia to find out what happened. It's funny and sad at the same time. I really liked it, I almost cried at the end when she found out what the secret was and why her mother was the way she was--but it had a good ending, and the girl meets a cute boy too.
