While many of his global predictions are either too vague (e.g., water is to be of prime importance), too far in advance (predicting an earthquake in L.A. at no particular time and then claiming when one occurs a year later it's the one predicted), too far-fetched (the U.S. becomes 13 colonies by 2012), or too obvious (predicting an earthquake in L.A. in which freeways collapse) to be particularly credible, there is a storehouse of insight and knowledge here that the silly predictions don't dispel. --P. This book is an interesting compendium of a modern prophet's ideas. The best part of the book is Scallion's story of how he became at first a reluctant and then a willing prophet. He is a leading proponant of the idea that the planet Earth will be subject to massive changes in the near term future. The book covers his ideas on how the cosmos operates, how he gets his visions and a description of the predicted earth changes. People who follow New Age ideas will find much familiar material but some new. For me, it took quite a suspence of belief to follow Scallion's ideas. The true believer may enjoy it more.

In the early seventies I was immersed in Edgar Cayce, Carl Jung, and Plate Tectonics which at that time was still theory. I understand where GMS is coming from, but I feel he is a bit short-sighted on Karma and the effects of our consciousness on the Cosmos. In the words of Viktor Frankl, "What is demanded of man is not,as some existential philosophers teach, to endure the meaninglessness of life, but rather to bear his incapacity to grasp its unconditional meaningfulness in rational terms.

I am not a faithful Gordon Michael Scallion follower, I don't even receive his newsletter, but I did find this book very interesting. Some things in this book are extremely difficult to swallow even though one keeps an open mind. I did find a lot of the material similar to Edgar Cayce. All in all it was a good read, it creates some shocking possible scenarios about our future on this planet.
