Janet Jackson is amazing,a true music legend. Her music is iconic and will live on forever. Janet is my fav artist of all time. I am proud to be a fan,this CD is the best in my collection,I do not at all regret buying it. I love you Janet :)Anyone who enjoys timeless,great music,must own this cd,it is simply amazing.

When you purchased this double CD, you own a mini musical time capsule of top 40 pop music during the past two decades.From the era of shoulder pads and oversized hair of WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY to the rigid big brother military styling of RHYTHM NATION in the early 90s ~ it's all here. It's interesting to audition the carefully calculated rhythmical evolution of this artist who at one point in time received the largest contract awarded to any musical act by a major recording label. You will own 34 tracks that easily inspired and influenced two generations of dancers and video producers. Janet does not have the strongest voice on the planet and could not be ranked as a DIVA but neither does Madonna yet both were equally instrumental in shaping the sound, look and style of Pop music for the past 20 years. The best part of this double compilation is that Universal opted not to place the tracks in chronological order but selected to blend the track listing into an order that would best provide listeners with a specific flow and groove. A nice touch is the inclusion of tracks that went ignored by conventional radio stations at the time, such as "THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE" performed with the late LUTHER VANDROSS. The final track "MAKE ME" provides listeners with a glimpse into the musical future and potential evolution of Janet as an artist. A high energy dance track slighty inspired from PRICE's grooves. It reveals yet another cautious dance step forward and not a misstep or a moon walk back in time. Even if, at the time, you were'nt a fan of Janet, this double CD remains a must to own that should be included into any serious pop collection!
