This book series is amazing. Please just let me say that now. If you like the "action-packed with a touch of romance" thing, you will love this series. You just need to get through this book.
I really enjoyed this book, mostly because of te general plot. there are some reviews explaining the plot of the book here, so you should go read those. I thought the love-story got quite boring at most parts, but that's building up to the climax, which for me made up for it.
Mostly the love story bored me because I thought John wasn't very focused on his duties to Henri, and also just because I didn't really care very much about Sarah.
What makes this book worth the read is the plot behind that. If the love story bores you, just read on. I probably wouldn't have gotten through this book if it weren't for Sam. He really made the book interesting, and if you just stic around until the end, you'll see.

What I noticed for lot's of people who stopped reading te series after this book was that tey got annoyed with the main character, John. I want to tell you now, the next book is told from another Loric's point of view, who isn't involved with John until much later in the series. the boo after THAT is told from three points of view, and by that book, you WILL be hooked. I really need you to trust my judgement on that.

(I am reviewing ths while in the midde of reading this book for pobably the fifth time. this series s my favourite series ever, and if you just go through this book, you can read te Power f Six, and then decide if you like it. please jst do not stop here. and do not judge the book by the movie, either)

(I apologize for any typos, and just s you know, I did not spoil anything in this review, don't worry)

When I saw all of the great reviews that were out there for this book (and the fact that the movie rights to the book were picked up in no time at all after its release), I became very excited to read the book. However... I don't really see what the appeal is with this book, in all honesty. I was really quite disappointed with it, it wasn't the worst book I have ever read, but it by far is not one of my most favourite. I thought that the story behind it had the potential to be really great, but I just don't think that it lived up to such potential.

*MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS- BE WARNED!*

Lorien was a planet similar to our Earth, housed an extraordinarily powerful group of people, known as the Gard, who possessed certain abilities (ie. telekinesis, invisibility, etc. known as legacies) and whose job was to protect the people of Lorien. Meanwhile, the planet was also home to the Cepate, the keepers of knowledge in a sense, and the guardians of the Gard, looking after the Gard members and guiding them in their discovery of their legacies, the history of the people and the planet and so forth. One day out of the blue, Lorien is attacked by another planet's people, the Mogadorians. The Mogadorians have destroyed their planet through warfare and whatnot and they have set their eyes on the extremely plentiful Lorien. Lorien's people are quickly overtaken by the Mogadorians, primarily because they were so unsuspecting of such an attack. Before all of the people are killed however, 9 young Gard members and their Cepate are gathered together and shipped off to Earth before Lorien is completely overtaken and destroyed, in the hopes that one day they can restore Lorien.

This is my favourite sidebook of the series. I love the characters we learn more about (Adam!!!) and Sandor's story might be my favourite. I picture him being played by Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark in Captain America).

This book is a very quick read it keeps you entertained and constantly guessing that the proofreading needs to be better as you are constantly filling in the correct word, other than that the ending was easy to guess anyway. I am looking forward to for the completing books of the series I have already pre-ordered the next one well worth your by for a good escape.

Yes I love this book even though it is pretty cheesy and full of angst that is predictable. This book is a great getaway from the everyday hectic life.

Usually when it comes to reviews, I tend to rate the book the same amount of stars that it has received on Amazon. However, for this book, I have to give it a 5 instead of a 3.5

I really liked the main character in this book - John/Four. I'm a girl, and I rarely read books from a male perspective but I am going through a dystopian obsession so I decided to check I Am Number Four out. I LOVED it. John is a great main character, and a really nice guy (not a total douche-bag at all.) I really enjoyed reading about his father/son, mentor/student relationship with Henri. I felt like it was really well written and was one of the best parts of the book. I also liked John's new best friend, Sam. I felt like Sarah was a bit of a flat character, but John IS a teenage boy and seemed more preoccupied with her looks than personality, so...

The suspense was great and so was the action. It was really hard for me to put down (I only did so once.) I even teared up a bit at the end, for reasons which I will not say. The ending really set it up for a great sequel, and The Power of Six is even better. Like WAY better. Definitely check out I Am Number Four!
