From the Studio

The Showtime Original Series Nurse Jackie ended season two with the ugly truth closing in on super-nurse Jackie Peyton. Her lover Eddie threatened to come clean about their affair to his good friend Kevin, who also happens to be Jackie's husband. And O'Hara and Kevin put the pieces together about Jackie's pill-popping ways and confronted her about her addiction. But if the people in her life think one little intervention is going to stop her, they don't know Jackie. The great white liar returns for another hilarious season.

3.0 out of 5 stars Stuck In a Rut, Mar 29 2012

(TOP 100 REVIEWER)
I love Nurse Jackie--the character and the show. After viewing Season One I declared it one of the best shows on TV. But this third go-round has left me torn. One on hand, I love Edie Falco's portrayal. Somehow she's managed to take a lying, thieving, drug-addicted adulteress and turn her into a complex but endearing and enjoyable character--someone I want to spend time with. I suppose it's because the writers show off her humanity in the dramatic hospital scenes, but the point is I LIKE HER.

The problem with the series at this point is that it's become a one-trick pony and is stagnant. They need to pull a "Weeds" and really shake this show up a bit, even if it means getting her out of All Saints and bringing in new supporting characters. Falco and the cast are doing an amazing job but the writers are letting them down.

This season still has a few amusing and surprising moments as in the Rat episode and when Jackie's 'sponsor' gets what's coming to him.

Still enjoyable, but definitely getting stale already and that's a big shame. Three and a Half Stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Third season still full of surprises., Mar 25 2012

This is still as unpredictably addictive as seasons 1 and 2. Outstanding quality of writing, acting and directing are worth way more than quantity of episodes. I would rather see this kind of quality than to sit through 22 mediocre episodes of another series. Cannot wait till season 4 is out on DVD.
