Product Description

Just because a movie is a comedy doesn't mean that the music accompanying it is a joke. No, often the opposite is true. You don't need music upstaging the actors. What if it gets more laughs? So the sequel to the Nutty Professor features an all-star cast of R&B and hip-hop stars who do the serious stuff best. The smooth R&B tracks are offset by ferocious hip-hop grooves, creating a constantly shifting scene of alternating moods. Just as sentimentality hits its peak with Case's "Missing You," things are seriously shaken up by Method Man's "Even If." Sometimes the extremes seem a but much. Do Brian McKnight fans want to share time with Sisqo (featuring Foxy Brown) and Eminem (here with Redman), and vice versa? This may be a case where hearing it all in the context of the movie would help listeners make the less-than-obvious connections. As a special enticement, the final track is a preview from the new LL Cool J album, G.O.A.T. --Rob O'Connor

3.0 out of 5 stars Klumps Tunes Feb. 12 2001
Format:Audio CD
The soundtrack to an absolutely horrible movie was centered around hip-hop, naturally and features one of the best rap songs in the past decade, Jay-Z's "Hey Papi". It is a tremendous look at a young boy growing up, wondering if his fathers lifestyle is completely normal. The sound systems to it are out of this world, and bringing a real boy to repeat the title and not Jay is gold, or should I say platinum? There are other fairly enjoyable tracks to this cd, including costar Janet Jackson's "Doesn't Really Matter" and the infamous "Thong Song", among others. It was refreshing to not have to hear any scenes from the awful movie in the soundtrack.
A few of the songs are a little uncommon and unenjoyable, sounding like a combination of rap and raggae that just doesn't quite fit. But, because of one of the songs, it is well worth your time.

4.0 out of 5 stars awesome soundtrack Jan. 15 2001

the nutty professor 2 album is really good. it had a good combination of rNb and hiphop. the best hiphop song is either the hilarious duo of eminem and redman on off the wall or let me be by eve. memphis bleek outshines jigga and amil on hey papi and even if by method man is classic wu-tang. my only dissapointment in the hiphop area is im gonna crawl by dmx because the lyrics are stupid. as for rNb my favorite is do you remeber by montell jordan. i usually don't appreciate rNb but this is a perfect song about how it was back in the day. rNb dissapointments are just friends by sonny because its bluesy and boring, and thong song uncensored. foxy brown adds nothing to this already horrible song in fact making it worse. most of the beats are either bass or keyboard tho timbaland provides a funky guitar beat and shorty101's song has more of a pop beat. if u like hiphop and rNb in general pick this album up. peace out.

Every song on The Klumps CD is awesome. The best rap songs are Hey Papi by Jay-z and Off the Wall by Eminem and Redman. The best R&B songs are Missing You by Case and Thinkin Bout Me by Brian McKnight. This is a must get for any music fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Who Is That Musiq Guy Oct. 26 2000
Format:Audio CD
Dear Customers,
For all of you who have not heard this album yet, there are about two songs you'll absolutely hate. The first one is that song from Eve. She could've done better than that. Number 2 is that song from some guy by the name of Musiq. Hello, we already have a D'Angelo, and we're getting pretty tired of that one. But Eminem and Redman's song is straight up crucial.

Very good CD. Much better than the first one. The first CD was pretty good too. The R&B tracks are pretty good and Jay-z and Eminem make this a Rap hit. And LL is dogging you know who. So check this album out!

4.0 out of 5 stars great artists, great music . . . Oct. 3 2000
Format:Audio CD
most of the tyme i'm not happy wit how a soundtrack turns out. i usually skip thru every track 'cept the one song dat i actually bought it for. but dis soundtrack is pretty good . . . i can actually listen to about 75% of dis cd (as opposed to only 20% on my other soundtracks . . . ) not all artists on dis soundtrack i lyke but most i do. but then again not all artists dat i do lyke on her did quality tracks for dis cd. doesn't really matter (by janet) is a pretty kewl song mostly for the phat dance beat . . . hey papi (by jay-z) is the second best song on here because the song and video remind me a lot of big pimpin. just friends (by musiq) is the BEST SONG on dis cd because fer a new artist he sure did so well on dis song and if u sample n/e song sample dis one cuz it's great. even if (by methodman) is in a tie wit jay-z fer the second best song on here, because method man never does a song wrong. i am very dissapointed in the lack of quality in dmx's song i'm gonna crawl, because even though dmx is hellsa kewl dis song isn't dat great at all. thinkin bout me (by brian mcknight) is pretty good but it kinda sounds to me lyke all his other songs. surprisingly good artists shorty 101 do an amazingly great job on their song get wit me, and usually i do not like pop-ish songs, but it also sounds sorta r&b mostly because darkchild werked wit dem on dis song. i've never really been a big thong song fan but dis version wit foxy brown does sound a lot better than the one wit only sisqo. you'll like off the wall if you're a fan of both redman and eminem. but i only lyke redman so i usually skip dis track, but i hafta say it does have crazy beat. the rest of the songs don't really appeal to me, but if you're a fan of n/e artists i didn't mention, you'll probably lyke their songs. but dis cd is definitely what a soundtrack should be . . .

5.0 out of 5 stars SUMMER 2000 SOUNDTRACK Oct. 1 2000
By LilBo
Format:Audio CD
This has to be the hottest soundtrack for the summer of 2000 wheather you love ballads or party jams this is for you.The good thing about soundtracks is you get to hear new joints from up and coming artists. And new artists with hot joints on this cd are Musiq which is a new male r&b group with there song "Just Friends", which is surely a great ballad, at first i said yuck but after hearng this song a few times it was a good slowjam.Another good song is "No You Didn't Say" which is one of the highlights of this album its performed by Kandice Love this is a nice song with great vocals. The next hot song is "Get With Me" performed by a new female group founded by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, who call themselves Shorty 101, this is my jam a definite fast paced club joint.OTHER good songs are by Jay-z,Eve,Sisqo and Foxy Brown{she tears the song up},and Dmx, plus Janet has a hot joint pick this album up now its off the meter
