I use it in my kids room for white noise when they sleep. The kids never wake up at night or get disturbed by random noises.
I love this product. Mine has never cut out. Also, if you don't choose the 15, 30 or 60min timer, it stays on. I love that feature.

Was so anxious to receive this item, first night didn't have it loud enough, next night too loud. Wanted it mostly for the ocean sounds, but the birds are VERY irritating, which is so disappointing. Living on the prairies, I love to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean, not seagulls squawking.

We have had ours for less than a year, for the last couple of months the volume knob seems to have a loose connection. Now the machine turns off and on suddenly, when it turns off it wakes our baby.

The sound is ok, but I am surprised that these machines aren't available in stereo. Same can be said for most alarm clocks though. I am throwing around am idea of using a small ipod and a small ipod speaker system. This would make the ocean sound more like the ocean as opposed to the white noise it sounds like now. 2 stars
