I discovered Stuart McLean through Christmas Songs, a collection of Christmas music from Canadian musicians. He's tale of Dave and Morley's adventures at Polly Anderson's Annual gala had me laughing so hard that I had to pull off the road. This CD also had the same effect. From Arthur the dog to Sam's truffle tasting and love of old neighbors, McLean draws the listener into the lives of these characters and helps us love them. Love them for being so like us, that is. Glad to have discovered this Canadian jewel.

Stuart McLean's Vinyl Cafe has been brought to life in this delightful, live performance of Stuart reading his stories! Each story lasts 15 to 20 minutes. They are poignant, touching, and funny beyond belief. The only thing that could improve this CD is MORE!! Unlike many comedy videos, Stuart's Vinyl Cafe is worth listening to many, many times. They appeal to a wide ranging audience. I heartily and whole-heartedly recommend this CD!

I just love the ordinary story that turns out to be anything but ordinary. I always get a laugh and sometimes a tear rolling down my cheek. This is a wonderful series that would appeal to anyone.
