Wonderful Dec 1 2006
By W. Harwood - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is an outstanding. In case anyone is put off by modern and/or Polish music, this is quite accessible and enjoyable. The arrangements of old Polish music bring the dances and church music of the 14th to 18th centuries to life and show that Poland was indeed part of the general European music culture. The homage to Chopin is not exactly Chopin, but an imaginative use of the folk music of Mazovia, where Chopin was born and likewise drew on for his inspiration. First class performances and recording.

Quite Enjoyable May 27 2014

I'm not a fan of "modern" Polish music; it's too loud and dissonant for my taste. But these pieces are more like the Vaughn Williams and Holst treatments of British folk music. The performance is strong and the sound quality is good as well.
