Continues to entertain with ecchi action April 28 2012

This volume of Omamori Himari is one of my favorites, mostly because Shizuku (a water demon) plays large role in it. Here Himari is still recovering from being attacked by Tamamo-no-Mae and is determined to increase Yuuto's demon slaying powers, in case she is killed. There are the usual fights among Yuuto's harem for his affection and attention, but the highlight of the volume is Shizuku's attempt to extract revenge against a decedent of Jibashiri demon slaying family. We learn that when Shizuku was a child her entire family and village was killed by members of the Jibashiri family. For various reasons, Kuesu Jinguuji agrees to help Shizuku kill one of the decedents of the family who does not possess any magical powers. It is up to Yuuto to intervene and prevent Shizuku from doing something that would force her out of his home and have him kill her. It is one of the more moving story arcs in an otherwise funny, lighthearted manga. The volume ends with our group attending a Christmas party given by Kuesu and being attacked by a number of demons forced into action by Tamamo-no-Mae and Shuten-douji. We will see more of these two "great evil demons" in future stories. As with the other volumes, the banter among the women who love Yuuto is funny and Rinko gets to use her "violent love" nail bat. Another great addition to the series and highly recommended.

Engaging storylines and attractive artwork June 7 2012

Format: Paperback
Things never seem to settle down in Omamori Himari for too long. On the wake of the appearance by the bloodthirsty Tamamo-no-mae and Shuten-Douji, Himari decided it is time to take an active approach in Yuuto's demon-slayer training. Slowly, he is learning to defend himself, and his Light Ferry ability is improving, and he may need it sooner than he realizes.

Yuuto's Mizuchi water demon friend, the Lolita-type Shizuku, becomes consumed by a deep-seated grudge against the demon slayer clan that killed her family and friends. Now it is up to Yuuto to stop her from passing the point of no return.

This volume is more the calm before the storm than anything else. With romantic tensions running high now more than usual between Yuuto's many girlfriends, a nice Christmas party will help things settle, right? Wrong! With their enemies growing in power, becoming more and more complete, Yuuto is prepared to fight to protect the life that he has led with Himari and everyone else.

Once again, with his engaging storylines and attractive artwork, Milan Matra comes through and delivers a fun product that no manga fan should go without trying.
