This CD is loads of fun, even if you don't know all of the songs. DRUM MACHINE JOY is probably my favorite, and I'm not even sure why. The original version of that song was done by probably the cheesiest techno-pop-whatever bands, Joy Electric, but was turned into a very successful pop-punk song. I still don't get the lyrics, though. Another funny decision was to record a song by the Cootees (NO BRAIN), which is a band that both Mike and Tom are in. So, basically, it sounds just like the Cootees.
Anyway, I don't have much more to say about this CD, except how many bands does it take to cover TAKE ON ME?
p.s. SUMMER OF '69 is rad. My band covered it. Trust me, it's easy to do. And fun.

This is a very good album, though it is alittle short. They redue songs done by other artists. Alot of the songs don't sound very punk, but that's ok they still rock. My favorite track is "No Brain." "No Brain" is acctually written by the lead singer of "mxpx" it was in his other group called "The Cootees." That band never became as popular as "mxpx." Even though this CD is short and doesn't sound that punk, I know MXPX fans will still like it.

All cover EPs are, for one, boring. You pay 10 bucks for 8 songs you've heard before. Wonderful. If it's something new, I don't mind it, but MXPX does nothing new. Absolutely nothing new. New Found Glory managed to improve upon this when they did their From Screen to the Stereo EP and then Me First came along and blew this tragic, tragic album out of the water. I don't care if this does predate the two I just mentioned, this is still a really boring CD. SKIP IT. Go get Me First.

MxPx is a great band with serious talent, and "On The Cover" is a collection of cover songs that MxPx decided to do after they released their sophomore album. It includes songs like "Summer Of 69" by Bryan Adams, "Take On Me" by a-Ha, "Drum Machine Joy" by Joy Electric, and of course "No Brain" by The Cootees! It's a fun album and is just the right length...even if it is only 8 songs. 3 stars.

I first heard this CD in the dressing room during our musical and knew i just had to have it! I finally got around to buying it and I am so glad that I did. These are some of the most fun songs I have ever listened to and MXPX does a great job covering each one. This is fun and unique and a great CD, especially for the car. And most of all it's just excellent music! I can't wait to hear more from MXPX.

Okay, first off, I am a long time fan of MxPx.... I totally love them. So, naturally, I was pretty biased before I even heard it. But, seriously, this CD is awesome! I think the length is perfect, too. While only being 8 songs long, it fills you up, and only leaves you hungry for more MxPx! Definitely pick this one up, ESPECIALLY if you love MxPx already.

It's pretty good, if your looking for Mxpx with a little change. I think that they do a great job on all of the cover songs, they keep them fast. I know when I hear the actual songs now adays I always want to sing them alot faster and enjoy them better that way.

this cover EP is tight...if you don't have I would highly recommend picking one up...its a must have. If you already own it pick up Let It Happen for addition On the Cover tracks ( Sick Boy, Oh Donna, etc.)This album was cool before punk covers were popular.
