I don't care if I never get back!, July 29 2008
By Annie Van Auken - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: On The Diamond: A Treasury Of Baseball (Hardcover)
"ON THE DIAMOND - A Treasury of Baseball Stories" is exactly as advertised: 27 excellent short stories and one novel by such celebrated authors as Rod Serling, John O'Hara, Ring Lardner, Ray Bradbury, P.G. Wodehouse, John D. MacDonald, Zane Grey and Thomas Wolfe. At the time of its publication (1988), this was the largest anthology of baseball stories ever, and it may indeed still be. Fans of America's Pastime will love this book, as will anyone who appreciates great short stories. Highest recommendation!
Wanna play two? OK then... check out BASEBALL'S BEST SHORT STORIES. Just remember though, you're gonna be in there until the BOTTOM OF THE NINTH: Great Contemporary Baseball Short Stories.
