One X = sophomore success,
By
This review is from: One-X (Audio CD)
It's safe to say Three Days Grace will be a force to be reckoned with when it comes to Canadian music. The band's first album saw every single jump to #1 on a music chart somewhere. This, their second album is a refreshing sound to listen to after many of us kept playing the debut album over and over.To say this album is better is not exactly accurate, but it's good enough for a second album. The album does have a fresh sound to it. Many bands try to copy what they had done before, but not these guys. An example would be the track, "Over and Over", which contains an orchestra; something not heard on the first album, although the track itself still has that heavy 3DG sound we're used to. "It's All Over" is the perfect opening track. "Pain" would make a great second single with its catchy chorus, while "Animal I Have Become" sets the tone for the album, but makes a great first single that still captures the intesity of previous 3DG songs. There is no doubt that "Never Too Late" will be the obligatory 'Kids Help Phone' single with such lyrics as "this world will never be what I expected" and "still I hear you say you wanna end your life." "Let It Die" is a potential radio single, and the album's title track shows the band's attempt to be unique by not adding to the endless list of songs called "One". The best idea is to listen to this album with an open mind...if you are an up-and-coming Three Days Grace fan, buy the debut album first...those who are fans of the band, what are you waiting for?

One of the best rock albums of 2006. Three Days Grace deliver!!,

The first three singles from One X have topped the Billboard Mainstream charts. Animal I have Become reached #1. Pain reached #1. Never Too Late has reached #1 this week. Three Days Grace have delivered a hugely successful album with three #1 singles from the album. Yes, this album should have won a Juno award- but Award shows are all political and quite often, the artist or song that deserves to win is overlooked or cast aside. Juno Awards aside, this is quite possibly one of the best rock albums from 2006. Three Days Grace have a promising future and this Canadian act know how to deliver!! One X is a masterpiece. An amazing album!!

Why, why, why? This is an amazing album, very personal and strong. I loved their first record and had high expectations for this one, and I swear, they were fulfilled beyond hope! And they are just as great live as on the CD. Good job 3DG!
