3.0 out of 5 stars I Wanted to Love this Film Feb. 21 2014
By Darryn
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
I wanted to love this film after the first two Ong Bak movies, but I have to say that this does not measure up to the first two. The original Ong Bak had impressive stunts, and the second one great stunts along with a slightly better story. However, when I watched Ong Bak 3, I felt that it was missing something. Actually, it was missing a few things. The story felt drawn out, I almost with that the end of Ong Bak 2 just had the main character die, as that would have been a better ending to the story. Also, the fight scenes in Ong Bak 3 don't measure up to the first two. The final fight scene was very disappointing for a number of reasons, but going into details would give away some of the plot. In the end, I suppose I do recommend this if you have already seen Ong Bak 2, just don't expect that same level of quality. On the plus side, pictures and sound were better than expected.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing June 9 2011
By Cheryl TOP 100 REVIEWER
Format:Blu-ray
The first Ong Bak was great, and the second, good, but this one, the 3rd, really isn't satisfying. There is a good opening fight sequence, then a very long drawn out stretch of (what is referred to through the bonus material interviews as), character development. Then a too little too late closing finale, all wrapped up in a good vs. evil theme. It's sad that a lot of time and effort is wasted on a supernatural (voodoo) type plot, when the audience really just wants to see Tony Jaa display his physical feats of martial arts. (Sad to say, Tony Jaa co-wrote, co-directed, co-produced, and co-choreographed the film.) Bonus material includes brief cast and director interviews, as well as b-roll outtakes. (2 yawns)

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't expect much April 3 2011
By Derock
Format:Blu-ray
The movie doesn't have much fighting and the storyline is very confusing. Other than a few nice moves and big hits, this movie isn't nearly the caliber Tony's 3 previous movies. Apparently there were problems in production and it ended up being a rush-job.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit of a let down. Feb. 18 2013
By Stephen
Format:Blu-ray|Verified Purchase
Action scenes were terrific but the story itself was very hard to follow and dragged on. The scenery and costumes were gorgeous. If this was the finale of the series, we were a bit disappointed. The first two movies in the series were definitely better as far as content.
