Art and Artie are back and funnier than ever! Let the zabagabee begin! These guys never cease to entertain and cheer up the world. You can always count on them for a laugh or good time. Isn't that what's most important in life, to really be alive and let go of all of the drama and just be silly, wacky and fun?! You can always count on these guys for a good time! Energy is always abundant with these two guys. You never know what they are going to say or sing next! This album is totally possee! Much hictaburs are in order! No loozanteen here anymore! This cd is so much fun! Definitely one of your best ever!

We can't sing about young girls... or boys., May 27 2010

This review is from: Opbopachop (Audio CD)
This is the first new Barnes & Barnes album in 18 years. They are best known for novelty songs like "Fish Heads", although they have recorded "straight" songs from time to time. This album is firmly in the novelty camp. Many of the songs are sung from the point of view of a middle aged man, which makes sense, since they ARE middle aged men. The majority of the songs are creepy and/or in bad taste, but still funny. Yeah.

The Return of Barnes & Barnes!, Aug 9 2009
By David Lisa "Pop Culture Is My Life" - Published on Amazon.com
The last Barnes & Barnes album of new material was Loozanteen way back in 1991, 18 years ago. In the meantime, The Barnses (Bill Mumy and Robert Haimer) have remastered most all of their previous titles and worked on some new songs. Recently they decided to record a new album. The result is Opbopachop. It is a remarkable recording and sounds like it was made only a couple years after Loozanteen and not almost two decades later. The album is fun, funny and, of course, crudely weird in all the right places. Interestingly enough, their new music also finds the guys confronting middle age and mortality. This doesn't drag the album down though. Rather, it gives us a glimpse behind Barnes & Barnes, further fleshing out their personalities. Let's hope that Art & Artie head back to Lumania and churn out more new stuff! Thanks for a great new album guys. Yeah.
