Rival squads of sociopathic covert agents turn on each other with vicious glee when their underground facility is threatened with flaming death. The fun of Operation: Endgame lies in the cast: this is a pretty unlikely collection of assassins, played by the likes of Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine), Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover), and Emilie de Ravin (Lost), alongside more traditional Hollywood superspy types such as Maggie Q (Live Free or Die Hard), Ving Rhames (Dawn of the Dead), and Ellen Barkin (The Big Easy). Operation: Endgame also has fun with spook lingo (the agents are all named after tarot cards, ranging from the Devil to Temperance to the High Priestess) and extremely graphic violence (truly, at least half of the movie is watching the agents kill each other with improvised weapons, like paper shredders and golf putters). Corddry has the most fun with his part, giving the movie a jolt of energy whenever he appears, but the whole cast has their moment (though Rhames is wasted on a one-joke character). All in all, a bit flimsy, but Operation: Endgame knows that it's trash and revels in it. A candidate for cult film status. --Bret Fetzer

This movie is awesome.

It's funny, straight vulger and bloody as all hell.
I couldn't take how funny rob cordry was, i had to rewatch scenes cause i laughed to hard the first time. Rob Cordry is shockingly good, breaking out?.

I also loved the chase scene with Zach Galifianakis isn't scary but beautifully terrifying with his miners helmet.

Most of the kills are worth a damn, at least one. The ending, well you'll just have to see that.

EVERYONE BUY THIS FILM!!!!

So Much Potential Wasted on Weak Script and Direction Dec 7 2012
By Tsuyoshi - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
"Operation: Endgame" (also known as "Rogues Gallery") starts out promisingly, with a newly recruited agent codenamed "Fool" (Joe Anderson, "Across the Universe") ready for his first assignment. He is sent to the government's underground facilities, where he is introduced to members of two groups Omega and Alpha. Both teams are composed of eccentric agents all named after tarot cards, including "Chariot" (Rob Corddry), "Empress" (Ellen Barkin), "Hierophant" (Emilie de Ravin) and "High Priestess" (Maggie Q) and "Judgment" (Ving Rhames).

However, there is something not quite right about the way some of the agents including "Devil" (Jeffrey Tambor) act. With a new president about to be inaugurated, there is some conspiracy going on. And it looks like things are definitely not right when one of them is found horribly murdered (with pencils stuck in the body).

What follows in this dark action comedy is a survival game of government agents killing each other. The idea is fine and the cast is interesting, but the story is poorly written (script penned by Sam Levinson, director Barry Levinson's son), and the film is woefully directed. Actors like Maggie Q, Ving Rhames and Zach Galifianakis are all wasted in forgettable roles. Action scenes are amateurish. Rob Corddry and Ellen Barkin are fun to watch, but not enough to save this mess.

Produced by Richard Kelly of "Donnie Darko" fame, "Operation: Endgame" becomes tedious towards the end, taking itself too seriously. With a running time of less than 90 minutes, "Operation: Endgame" feels very long, not knowing what it really wants to do.

Fun for SOME of the family.. Dec 30 2010
By Bucky Kashdin - Published on Amazon.com

OK, first it's not 'terms of endearment'. Next off, it's an ation movie, with some black comedic elements. It's a wise ass, kill everyone, pseudo-psycholigcal actionfest.

There aren't a lot of surprises once the action starts, and it is definitely violent, and bloody, but in a 'im gonna kill you creatively, and make cracks and wise-ass comments while I do it' kind of way.

If you are looking for friend green tomatoes, look elsewhere. If you have a dark sense of humor, then you should enjoy every last minute of it.

Enjoy Rob Corddry in his best role since H&K Guantanmo.

Funny and bloody. May 6 2012

The movie was pretty good. It was a movie made to just have people kill each other and crack jokes. It had good fights and killing scenes and it was pretty funny. The story line isn't explained great in the beginning and is put together worse at the end. If you are looking for a movie with a good played story this isn't it. But, if you are just looking for a reason to laugh and see some rated material then I Recommend this movie because it's fun.

I found it funny. Sept. 1 2012

I found it funny in a somewhat dark sense of humor. Assassins locked up and hating each other in an underground bunker? Why not. It's not like an AMAZING movie ever made but it made me laugh. Rent if first, watch it, and if your like me (I buy movies IIIII like) then purchase it. :)

1 star is generous... Jan. 21 2011
By J. Shelby - Published on Amazon.com

Like many others, I watched this movie because the story sounded interesting enough, the flashy cover reminded me movies I'd seen previously and big Zach was right up front. That guy is pure comedic gold, right? RIGHT?

Wrong...

While Zach's minor time on the screen playing the same aloof, out of touch character as always fits him...the rest of the movie was unfortunately a waste. And while there will be defenders of this film claiming that this is a black comedy, the only thing that's black is the hole in my soul where happiness used to reside until this movie devoured it.

I kept watching with the hope that somehow the movie would eventually redeem itself. With a cast like this you'd think SOMEONE could make this movie worthwhile.

In the end I'm left wishing the cover would have been as bland as the movie and saved myself the torture of watching it...At least there's still hope for you. Flee now!
