... by not purchasing this book. This is yet another "feel good" book which could be condensed into about 5 pages of useful advice. In fact, I can condense the contents for you right now:

1) Pure "Positive Thinking" is detrimental as it encourages blind faith. Acknowledge negativity and then combat it. (Best advice in the book)

2) Make a list of things you don't like in your life/relationships/etc. For every problem, think about what the best solution is. (Not just "good enough", but best, and be realistic.)

There I just saved you the trouble of trudging through endless "What is the best..." suggestions, obviously falsified accounts of people she has supposedly dealt with, and insanely repetitive lists.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Self-Improvement book Ive ever read Aug 10 2003
Format:Paperback
Due to the unprecedented stress at work, I was about to explode about 2 months ago. Examining never finished task list, not friendly coworkers and continuous 10 to 12 hours work per day, I was desperate looking for help. I picked this book based on previous readers' review and read the book from cover to cover and follow those great suggestions in 2 months time frame. I feel never under control and confidence in my life. The book is easy to read, well organized, full of great examples. It does not only strengthen my inner soul but also tutor me how to communicate with others better. Thank you so much, Rosalene!

As an executive coach, I understand why Optimal Thinking is overtaking defective positive thinking programs in large and small business. Optimal Thinking is a solid, universal concept for realists. This book clears up misinformation about positive thinking that confuses many people, and offers a valid solution. Optimal Thinking is easy to read, and shows you how to OPTIMIZE (instead of manage) any situation. The author provides roadmaps to follow and the examples are concise. Optimal thinking is THE necessary ingredient for personal and professional optimization.
