Buying CD at Downloading Age Dec 23 2010

This soundtrack - or score album is 'great'. Maybe I can finish my review at this line. But I say more, shouldn't I? These shows 'The Lone Gunmen' and 'Harsh Realm' are good shows. Especially 'Harsh Realm' is deserved to go on, but it was cancelled. That made me sad: it looks like copy of 'The Matrix' at first, but it has its own.

Both scores are work of Mark Snow, one of the masters in 1013 production work. ;) His famous work is of course 'The X-Files', but I admit 'Millennium'. He is a good oboist, and composer. His talent is on mood of complexed feeling. Not only fear, but also sadness, sorrow, solemn, and even laugh. The X-Files and The Lone Gunmen were on the line of conspiracy and real world, Millennium was on the line of holiness and demonics, Harsh Realm was on the line of virtual and real world.

The Lone Gunmen scores leave something... The music is bright and integrity, but the problem is came from the show. The Lone Gunmen as the show, couldn't balance of serious vs. comical. People expected Lone Gunmen's cuteness and bright side, but the show wanted their serious one. But seriousness is not meaning dark mood, as we know. This unbalance is on the music. I think 'The Lone Gunmen Theme [Alternate]' track is the proof. Alternative theme is better and shows true form of Lone Gunmen. I miss their pure and simple mood on the X-Files. The show Lone Gunmen not bad, but they lost simple one in their show.

Harsh Realm, is great and great and great. I mean the show and score. I said my masterpiece of Mark Snow is Millennium. Yes, that is true. But. I think Harsh Realm score is almost the level. Mark Snow developed his own melody in The X-Files, and bloomed in Millennium, and succeeded in Harsh Realm. Harsh Realm score is close to electronic, but he put the melodic line parallelly - like virtual / real world. On pilot episode, "Climbatize" of Prodigy, this music is also electronic but has strong melody. The score and song combined perfect. Mark Snow's score shows real parallel perfection.

I really recommend this album if you like Snow. I have to buy this album on CD - because they sell it just by CD!!!! But when I put this CD on player and hear that, what I should do is to help such small scale market get wider. This album is deserved to wait and hold with my own hand at this downloading music age.
... Snow's soundtracks and this one was every bit as good as his others Oct. 1 2014

A big fan of Mark Snow's soundtracks and this one was every bit as good as his others. Delivery through Amazon was great - very well done, timely delivery, no hassles. Always pays to look here for things that you want first as many times, Amazon and Amazon sellers will offer the best possible prices, especially for limited items, like this soundtrack.
