Product Description

Attractively housed in brushed stainless steel, this electric kettle not only looks great in any contemporary kitchen, but it also quickly brings up to 1-2/3 liters of water to a rolling boil. To use, simply fill the kettle at the sink using the water-level window to gauge how much, return the kettle to its power base, and flip the switch to "on". In a matter of minutes, hot water will be ready to use for anything from tea, instant coffee, and hot cocoa to instant soup or oatmeal. Simply lift the jug off its 360-Degree power base for graceful serving without the hassle of a cord, and return it at any angle. The kettle shuts off automatically once water has reached a full boil, and its boil-dry protection ensures safety and peace of mind--no need to worry about the kettle operating without water inside. Other highlights include a concealed heating element, an "on" indicator light, a non-drip spout with a removable fine-mesh filter, a large stay-cool loop handle, and cord storage under the base for keeping excess cord wrapped neatly out of sight. The water kettle measures approximately 9 by 6-1/2 by 10-1/5 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

As I have owned the kettle for less than two months I can't speak to its longevity but by all indications it is solid and reliable. It is quick to boil and very quiet. I like the feature of being able to wrap the excess cord under the base where it is hidden. The design is somewhat clunky and it resembles an oversized camp coffee pot in appearance, but for functionality and value in a stainless steel kettle, I don't believe there is a better choice on the market.

Lasted only 2 months. Lid won't close, so have to put a weight on top while boiling.Does not always auto shutoff. No place close to me for repair, so warranty is worthless and company does nothing. Never never buy any oster/sunbeam product.

This was a gift. I didn't want or need it.

I can say without exaggeration, this kettle is one of the MOST POORLY DESIGNED appliances I have EVER had the misfortune to use.

*OSTER advertises it as "stainless steel." In fact it is largely composed of plastic parts. Within a few weeks the (plastic) locks for the lid stopped working. To keep the lid closed I have to put a strip of rubber matting on the top and an inverted mug for weight.

The water fast enough but SCALE BUILDS at an alarming rate which is VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE . This scale bonds to the BOTTOM INTERIOR of the kettle (hard to reach) and chunks -while strained by a PLASTIC strainer float freely!!

The last Oster appliance I willingly bought because of the Oster name was an espresso maker that Oster slapped it's name on ...I would NOT have bought it if I had known it was actually Mr. Coffee EMC 20. The glass cracked within a few months and the steam valve seized up within a year!

The unit has been running over a year and very reliable. Personally I have used quite a number of kettles, but was impressed with the unit for its quality and reliability.

I bought this product 2 years ago and it's still working great. I bought this model because there are no plastic parts in contact with the boiling water (you can remove the small filter near the top).

The stainless steel still looks good and it matches the rest of our kitchen appliances. My only complaint is that the lid doesn't open every time you push the button. It started doing that about 6 months after buying it.

We boil water every day, sometimes twice a day.

A nice bonus was that when you flick the switch on to boil, there is a blue light that comes on and gives the kettle a blue glow through the lid.

Not totally happy with this product. Cover doesn't open 'every time' you press on the button to open it. I have to pry it open by hand. Also water stains form around the cover which are very hard to remove. Not a happy camper!!

This kettle didn't sit securely on the base and rocked back and forth when it was boiling. When pouring the water, it not only came out of the spout, but also from around the edge of the entire lid. In my opinion this kettle is poorly designed and unsafe - you could easily get scalded by the leaky lid. I don't think it would actually tip over off of the base but didn't want to take that chance. We have already returned this kettle.
