Lynx's life was forever changed the day he was taken prisoner and sold into slavery. For most young men, being the only male in a harem full of women would be a dream come true - and it was for Lynx too for awhile. After ten years of servicing fifty women and enduring their abuse, Lynx doesn't want anything to do with women ever again.
Bonnie has suffered her own betrayal at the hands of a man. Pregnant and alone, she's definitely not helpless but there's no way she can do all the necessary farm work as her pregnancy progresses. Since the baby's father took all the money and left she's really put in a difficult position.
The planet of Terra Minor has strict rules in order to keep out the riff-raff and she's hoping that will entice someone to accept her offer to work on the farm. She's confused when the man sent out to the farm displays such odd traits from the other Zetithians she knows. She only knows two, Cat and Leo, but they're both so loving and open that Lynx's standoffishness and immediate dislike of her really bothers her. Fortunately he's a wonderful worker and takes on the responsibilities for the enocks, highly aggressive and dangerous large birds that lay coveted eggs, so that Bonnie won't be attacked again by them. Despite all Bonnie's efforts to befriend Lynx he remains aloof. He eats his meals in private, sleeps in the shed, and refuses to even have a casual conversation Bonnie has no idea why he seems to hate her so much.
It isn't that Lynx hates Bonnie; he can smell her desire and thanks to his past is aware that he can't provide her with sexual pleasure. To add more heartache to the situation, Bonnie's pregnancy reminds him of his desire to have children and how that dream will never become a reality. It'll take a lot of determination, trust, and unrequited love to bring out the man Lynx is destined to be - complete with a purr that Bonnie finds orgasmic all by itself.
OUTCAST is the fourth book in Cheryl Brooks' exciting CAT STAR CHRONICLES series. This is a series that has thoroughly captivated me and drawn me into the storylines with each new addition. The characters are larger than life and exciting but as a reader you can also relate to their feelings and situations - even though we are only human. Lynx's lack of self esteem and discomfort with even basic kindness really pulls at the heartstrings and I loved how Bonnie responds to him especially since she refuses to back down and ignore him.
Cheryl Brooks has created a world full of varying species that seem to blend effortlessly and allows readers to feel like you could easily fit in amongst them. Besides what woman wouldn't want to find herself loved by a man who's every desire is to please his mate.
Even though OUTCAST can be read without reading the others, I really recommend reading all the titles in the CAT STAR CHRONICES series. Revisiting the characters from previous stories is a treat and it's really quite interesting to learn what happened with the other Zetithians and how their lives have turned out - plus their mates will keep you chuckling with their antics.
The other titles in the CAT STAR CHRONICLES series are:
SLAVE, WARRIOR and ROGUE. They're all available now - and the fifth addition to the series FUGITIVE will be released in January 2010.

Lynxsabder "Lynx" Dackelov has been sold into slavery to a bunch of women. What you would think at first would be any guy's dream come true has turned into a nightmare for Lynx. He was starved, abused, laughed at, and worse of all...used till he couldn't get it up anymore. Lynx's only reprieve was when he was later sold to men but Lynx could never get the sound of women laughing out of his head. Because of his experiences with women. Lynx no longer wants anything to do with them.
Bonnie Neurath lives on Terra Minor, where she runs a farm. Bonnie never pictures herself managing a farm. Everything would have been just fine if the man Bonnie was with hadn't run off and left her pregnant and alone. That is ok because Bonnie is through with men for good. As much as Bonnie don't want to admit it though she could really use an extra pair of hands with all the chores.
Lynx had it all planned out that when he arrived on Terra Minor that he would get a job working at the mines but plans change. When Lynx arrives, he is informed that there are currently no openings at the mines but there is an opening as a farm hand. It is either that or be shipped back to where he came from. Will Bonnie and Lynx be able to help each other mend their broken hearts?
Outcast is the fourth book in The Cat Star Chronicles. I have to tell you that with each book, this series as well as Ms. Brooks just keep getting better and better. I got to warn you that if you are allergic to hot men and lots of steamy sex then you could stray away but if you love this type of combination then have got to run out to the nearest bookstore and pick yourself up a copy of Outcast today! Cheryl Brooks will have you meowing for more. I hope this series never ends.

I'm really enjoying Cheryl Brooks' futuristic series about a group of amazing men with incredible sexual powers/abilities. Grabbed your interest? Well, these men are the last of a race that whose home planet was wiped out. This group was captured and secretly sold into slavery. So far there has been three other books, each the tale of one of the survivors. The series rides the erotica line for me as the sex is graphic, plentiful, and a genuine part of the storyline. Not to mention it just makes me hot!!
Lynx was one of the youngest when he was captured and sold as a slave to a harem of women. Of course, with his amazing 'talents' it didn't take long for him to become a favorite in the harem. A young man's dream right? But for 10 years? It didn't take even that long for his dream to become a nightmare. When his 'talents' quit working...he was quickly sold again--this time to a more ethical planet where he could work to gain his freedom. But he's still a child in many ways, and soon he ends up on yet another planet where he must find work or be deported. If only the only job available wasn't working for a Woman! He hates women!!
Bonnie hates men. They've done nothing but lead her on and let her down. Now she's pregnant and trying to work her farm alone. She realizes she must have a farm hand and gets Lynx. His anti-social behavior and dislike of her become a challenge. But the more she learns about his past, the more she understands his feelings. How can he EVER care for yet another woman who needs him?
I think this is probably the 'deepest' book in regard to exploring feelings and psyche. Lynx is damaged; in his heart, his body, and his soul. His retreats are his defense against feeling and Brooks did a Class A job in portraying this. Bonnie is a strong character who just wants help; not to be taken care of...just help. But the more they learn about each other, the more each begins to understand just how different they are from their preconceived notions. Very touching.
Did I mention these books are also way hot? Don't read them without a glass of cool water and a fan handy. Cheryl Brooks 'Cat Star Chronicles' will provide a thrill and a fun read at the same time. "Outcast" was perfect for a hot summer afternoon.
