A diverse journey typical of Thievery Corporation,
By
This review is from: Outernational Sound (Audio CD)
This CD is not quite what I was expecting when I first listened to it. But each time I listen to it the whole way through, I get something out of it that is completely different than the last time through. Overall, I am impressed with the diversity and variety of flavors in this album, which is typical Thievery Corporation, and although the 'unmixed mix' format was not entirely necessary or generally effective, it is not an extremely significant shortcoming that should drive a seasoned Thievery Corporation veteran, or first time buyer away from this album. I wouldn't choose this as my first Thievery Corp album, however, as there are others (Richest Man in Babylon for example) that reel a music lover into the TC world for the first time, and make them fall in love with music of all genres and locales all over again.

THAT NOT SAMPLING THAT'S RIPPING OFF,
By vt514 (Montreal) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Outernational Sound (Audio CD)
Total rip off.You can't event call that an art of sampling. Lots of cuts, remixes, remakes, textures that has already been sampled by truth genius, T.Corp just rip off identically the cuts already sampled , No credit in that at all cause there almost no layer added by them. For sure they're real thieves! and they have a good sense of sound marketing. Doesn't deserve to be bought.
