Mediocre,
By Sam Ribtor "Sam" (Calgary) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Outlook 2007 For Dummies (Paperback)
Starting out well, the writer did show me some things about Outlook, which I had never used before. The book doesn't go far enough into the nitty gritty and covers only the most basic features. I found that much of it was filler with the same repetative tasks. I think that by half way through the author should assume that we know how to find those extremely basic features without having to go over it time and time again. I often had to scratch my head trying to look for something described therin because the graphics are simply screen shots with no particular meaning or direction. Too much time was spent describing vageries of administrator potentials in an office environment which should have been reserved for another book. It covers the most used features well, but I may have to hunt down another book.

Describes a Lot you can do with Outlook,
By John Matlock "Gunny" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Outlook 2007 For Dummies (Paperback)
Microsoft's Outlook is the hands down most popular package in the world for handling e-mail. The overwhelming percentage of peopel using Outlook use it only for handling e-mail. They ignore that in revision after revision, down through many years Microsoft has expanded the functionality built into the program to becomen what Microsoft calls a Desktop Information Manager. Not only that, but in keeping with Microsoft's traditions, it has kept the Outlook look and feel rather consistent across the range of functions.Among the standard features built into Outlook 2007 include what you might call a contact management system (and you don't have to pay extra for it). With you can keep a lot of information about your contacts, not just their e-mail addresses. Then there's a calender, scheduling system, sending yourself notes (kind of like those little yellow slips), keeping a journal and lots, lots more. Like the other For Dummies books, this book uses simple English to explain things and yet covers the subject very completely. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Outlook 2007 For Dummies (Paperback)
I purchased the program to replace Outlook Express 6 which kept locking up on me. The book made the setup for e-mail accounts very simple and I loved the other features of the program which I was able to use almost immediately by reading the book and following instructions. This is a great book for a low price.
