5.0 out of 5 stars Very deserving!, April 23 2007
This review is from: Over The Knee (Mass Market Paperback)
I had heard so much about this book on the web that I just had to read it, so I ordered a copy all the way from the UK. I didn't regret it! At the start of the book, Angie is working on her thesis on underground Victorian spanking literature. Spurred by another library member who keeps requesting the volume she is studying, she starts to explore her own desires. The book tells of the scrapes she gets into along the way: she is spanked by a store security guard who catches her shoplifting and a priest that she goes to for confession. She builds a relationship with Peter, a professor with a taste for discipline and the character to impose it. The birching thread that runs through the book is one of the hottest I can recall. There's underlying consent, which I suppose is an editorial requirement, but the flavor of Angie's punishments is entirely disciplinary. This is a book for the dedicated spanking fan: Angie is spanked over the knee, strapped, caned, paddled and birched. And who'd have guessed that Peter's englishvice site actually exists out there on the real web?

5.0 out of 5 stars AWSOME LITERARY TALENT WRITING OF A KINK SHE LIVES!, Jan 19 2010
By
This review is from: Over The Knee (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is destined to become a classic among books of Dominance/submission erotica. The book is wonderfully literate and well written, establishing, in my opinion, a new benchmark for quality writing in the field. The author, "Fiona Locke" (A pseudonym for the spanking model "Niki Flynn" author of "Dances with Werewolves (Memoirs of a Spanking Model)", also available from Amazon) is a very talented (and beautiful) writer who is obviously deeply drawn to the emotional rewards she derives from experiencing real corporal punishment for some real or imagined misdeed. Her descriptions of her emotions regarding punishment ring true in every way and I was so deeply impressed with the quality of her writing that I ordered 5 more books from Amazon and sent them to my 5 dearest and most intelligent submissive female friends who concurred with my high opinion of the quality of her writing as well as the authenticity of the scenarios and characterization!
Briefly, the story is a somewhat fictional account of the life of a young woman who has been fascinated with the fantasy of being spanked since childhood, how she engineers her first spanking experience and then goes more deeply into the lifestyle of the submissive woman. Unlike the usual BDSM submissive, this character yearns for the real experience of actually being punished, which she fears and hates, until is is over, when she savours the memory and the feelings which follow the experience. In other words, she initially gives her consent to be subject to the physical discipline of her punisher, then her punishments are all strictly "non-consensual" but at his discretion in both method and severity. I expect that most of the book is fictional but have no doubt that it follows her own experiences and fantasies very closely. She is spanked, strapped, caned and birched throughout the book as is her female friend she meets along the way. From her descriptions I have little doubt that all of the punishments she describes are ones which she has experienced real/life. There is a report on a number of web sites that she has retired from modeling for spanking videos and stills and possibly the lifestyle as of September '09 and has broken off with her British "partner" (who is probably the inspiration for her "Peter Marksworthy" character). I can only hope that she has not forsaken her formidable writing talent and that we will be offered more of her literary creations in the future.
All I can say is that if real spanking and/or any similar form of corporal punishment of adult females is of interest to you, this book will be one of your favourites. I have just ordered "Dances with Werewolves (Memoirs of a Spanking Model)" and, from reviews, suspect it may be darker but fully autobiographical in nature. But, even if it exceeds my preference for strict corporal punishment that falls short of what some may insist is a form of torture, I am sure it will be written in a way that displays her deep insight into her own mind as well as her wonderful style and talent. I'd happily give "Over The Knee" 6 stars out of five!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I Couldn't Put It Down!, Feb 6 2007
By Kelsey - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Over The Knee (Mass Market Paperback)
I really loved this book. It is so clear that the author is actually into her subject matter, and that makes all the difference. I know personally I have gotten very tired of reading spanking erotica that is clearly written by someone who does not understand the kink. Well, I can tell you that Fiona Locke *gets it* (no pun intended).

Truly, I could not put this book down and reccomend it to anyone who has an interest in spanking. This has such a wide range of scenarios, I think there something in it for every person who shares the kink!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enthusiastic, Dec 30 2006
By Connoisseur "Connoisseur" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Over The Knee (Mass Market Paperback)
This really is quite a book. Nexus describe it as "the definitive spanking novel" and that really comes close. It's well-written and entertaining, and it's by a real enthusiast who understands the core of the spanking game. The author claims that the cover picture is actually of her, and she has a story of taking the picture to back her up. A must-read for anyone who's into this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply fabulous!, Dec 30 2006
By boy jesse - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Over The Knee (Mass Market Paperback)
I've loved Fiona's work for quite some time now and was thrilled to learn that she'd finally written a full-length novel. There is honestly something here for everyone, up to and including some of the most delicious and erotically-charged gender roleplaying scenes I've ever had the pleasure to read (and re-read, and dog-ear, and re-read again and again).

I honestly cannot recommend this book highly enough. Suffice to say that if you are even remotely interested in this particular area of the lifestyle, whether it's mild curiosity or you are an active "spankophile," this is THE BOOK for you. It has a place alongside some of the great works of kinky literature, such as "Frank and I," "The Story of O," and "Slaves of the Roman Empire." If you haven't pre-ordered a copy, request your local bookshop to carry it. You won't regret it.
