Product Description

Product Description

This now famous anthology brings together various aspects of oversampling methods and compares and evaluates design approaches. It describes the theoretical analysis of converter performances, the actual design of converters and their simulation, circuit implementations, and applications.

From the Back Cover

Only recently have oversampling methods used for high resolution A/D and D/A conversion become popular. This is the first book to address all aspects of the subject and to compare and evaluate various design approaches. It presents a theoretical analysis of converter performance, actual design methods for converters and their simulation and circuit implementation. It also covers applications together with the design of decimation filters for A/D converters, and the design of interpolators for D/A converters.

Of particular interest to electrical engineers involved with designing and/or using circuits for signal processing in communications, audio applications, sonar, and instrumentation.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good book on Sigma-Delta converters, theory and practise, April 17 2003

This review is from: Oversampling Delta-Sigma Data Converters: Theory, Design, and Simulation (Paperback)
A good book on sigma-delta converters, even though it is a compilation of chapters by different authors. It is obvious that they collaborated, because you really don't get the impression that multiple authors are involved. Theory and practise are discussed to a reasonable depth. Make no mistake though - it would still be difficult to rush off and design a working prototype and expect a spice simulation to agree with theory. The illustrations are good, and the book is well written. I take off a star mainly because it is expensive.

it is real good books. easy to understand the sigma modulators and good for people who interested to know the derrivation of the equations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Book Delivery: Impressive; Book Content: Excellent, A Classic, Jan 21 2009
By Eashwar Thiagarajan "eashwar" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Oversampling Delta-Sigma Data Converters: Theory, Design, and Simulation (Paperback)
About the Delivery: The book arrived at the right time, despite delays due to snow at seattle , in the last weeks of December. The used book was in a very good condition. The first blank page had the name of the previous owner written on it (which is probably the case with any used book) but the book itself was in very usable condition.

About the book: This is a classic in Sigma Delta ADC design. Went through this book when I was a student, taking courses under Dr. Temes @ OSU. Though many of the papers are old (as on date), the content is nevertheless valuble, particularly for ramping up new engineers to the fundamentals of sigma delta design. I find even experienced analog/ADC engineers referring to this book while making system level architectural choices/decisions.
