I bought this book as a supplement to the core textbook to give some of my beginning students extra practice with listening and speaking. I've really enjoyed using it, and so have my students.
I've also used some of the activities as warm-ups for my intermediate-level students.
Some good points:
--Inexpensive, and only the teacher needs a copy
--You don't need any resources besides a board, chalk, paper, and pencils to do these activities
--The activities would mesh well with most core textbooks. They address a fairly typical series of topics, such as introductions, shopping, getting around town, activities, food, likes and dislikes. The grammar used in the activities (it's not explicitly taught) is around the simple present tense/present continuous tense level.
--The activities include warm-ups and follow-up activities, so the students can practice speaking as well as listening.
--Very little prep-work needed.
--The book makes sense and is helpful whether you have a TESOL degree or not.
This book uses British English, so American English teachers will need to make sure they change some of the phrases. (Example: "I quite like it" vs. "I like it a lot" or "queuing" vs. "standing in line.")
