5 of 5 people found the following review helpful By Heather E. Perry on April 5 2010
Format: Spiral-bound
The Lesson Plan book accompanies the Oxford Picture Dictionary, 2nd edition. The pages in the lesson plan book correspond with the pages in the dictionary. The plans contain several categories: warm-up, introduction, presentation, guided practice and communicative practice and application (referring to other Oxford Picture Dictionary publications). The Lesson Plan book comes with three CDs: one contains PDF worksheets that are reproducible; the other two CDs are a multi-level listening audio; and a pronunciation audio. Again, the material can be used in a multi-level setting. The levels are low beginning, high beginning, and low intermediate. Again, because of the reproducible capabilities and the various hints as well as activities for a multi-level classroom, this resource is an extremely economical book.

My only problem with my Lesson Plan book is that I somehow ended up with an American Edition to go with my Canadian Dictionaries and Lesson Books. Not good for lessons on weather, geography, money and a few other things.

Not happy with this purchase, being U.S. based. Received it over Christmas, so didn't have time to review it...don't know about return policy at this point. But if you teach ESL as I do, government lesson plans etc. doesn't help you when you teach newcomers to Canada.

Super ESL Resource Aug. 9 2009
By milonguera - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Spiral-bound
The Oxford Picture Dictionary Lesson Plans is an excellent teaching tool, especially for English Language Learners at all levels. It coordinates, page by page, with the Oxford Picture Dictionary - the best of its kind. 3 CD's included offer superb pronunciation audios and exercises. What a bargain for under $30!
with free S & H from Amazon.com. It was not out of stock and much more expensive thru Oxford University Press.
I suggest combining it with OPD/Low-Beginning Workbook (which includes audio & repro CD's)bundle. Around $26 - might only be available from Oxford Univ. Press. Makes for the BEST teaching resources for Adult Ed ESL teachers and educational institutions.

Excellent Companion Book Aug. 13 2009
By Marie Farnsworth - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Spiral-bound Verified Purchase
This book, conveniently spiral bound, serves as a companion book to Oxford Picture DIctionary and is meant to be used by a teacher as a lesson plan resource. I teach ESL and it is an integral part of my lesson plan. The book follows the subjects in OPD and is thus easily coordinatable with the OPD. I would rcommend it highly to anyone teaching ESL to adults.

I absolutely love this lesson plan book Nov. 5 2014

I absolutely love this lesson plan book. Somebody who actually knows how to teach and does or did teach extensively wrote this book. It is fantastic! You can literally read it and teach directly from this book, the lesson plans are so well done. And it follows task-based communicative lesson style instruction (learning by doing/using the language), so it is also student-friendly. My students love it. I tweak the lessons and sometimes add to it, but you wouldn't have to.

This was an excellent addition to my adult learners in my ESL classroom. The pictures are great, the lesson plans are useful, and the CDs are great to use. An excellent purchase which was very economical.
