Over the holidays, it was an invaluable kitchen tool for precise measuring. There is nothing more frustrating than spending hours baking and having a recipe fail. Many times that failure is due to imprecise measurements. For example, depending how tightly packed a cup of flour is, it may weigh up to twice a typical cup of flour. But by knowing a cup of flour should weigh 4 ounces, it is much easier to have accurate results. What is really great about the Ozeri scale is that you can even set the scale to deduct the weight of whatever measuring vessel you're using, so you can still use the measuring cups, but with a digital weight for accuracy. Another great feature is that the scale weighs in both ounces and grams depending on the recipe used.

The scale also came in handy for mailing packages this past season. We had a few packages we weren't sure whether they required extra postage or not, and with the scale we could cross check the weight with the postal charges.

Now our last use for the scale is still to be tested, as we are going to be measuring all our portions to make certain we don't overeat. We are very excited and happy to work with Ozeri. We give the digital kitchen scale our highest level of endorsement and recommend if you are planning to lose some weight this year and want to measure your portions accurately, this kitchen scale is the perfect product.

Pros:
-kitchen timer alarm is loud.

Cons:
-the scale platform is a cheap looking plastic, not metal
-the advertised capacity is deceptive, it wont measure anything under 10 grams with accuracy. I tried measuring some salt for a recipe, and for the exact same amount of salt the measurement would vary between 0 grams (i.e. not registering any material on the scale) and 10 grams

Conclusion: If you don't mind that it feels cheap, and you're only measuring large volumes of ingredients (i.e. 10g and above) then this product is alright. If you have an extra $10 I'd recommend buying something of better quality/reliability.

I bought this scale a couple weeks ago as I was beginning a low calorie diet. Using this scale to count calories has been a walk in the park, and the Tare feature is a real plus. This has personally been an invaluable tool, and I use it a LOT, and would not be without it now. (Haven't used the timer but that's a nice added feature to have when I need it).

It's very attractive, and looks nice on the kitchen counter. It has four different weight measurements, (lbs, oz, g, and kg), and seems to be extremely accurate. It will even weigh a napkin! I started to purchase a different brand, but I liked the fact that this uses AAA batteries versus the expensive lithium batteries the other brand I was looking at uses. Then after reading many of the other reviews on this item prior to purchasing, it was an easy choice.

Overall I am very happy with this product, and would highly reccommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced but attractive and quality kitchen scale. As an added and unexpected bonus, this morning I received an email from Ozeri thanking me for my purchase and offering me their Electric Pepper Mill & Grinder at NO ADDITIONAL COST - not even a shipping fee. (The peppermill grinder currently sells for $25 on amazon). So for $20, I received the kitchen scale and the peppermill grinder, which by the way, was also highly rated.

I don't know how anyone could top that unbelievable value. I'm not sure if everyone who purchases the scale is offered the free peppermill grinder or if this is just a temporary promotion, but even without the grinder, I believe the kitchen scale is a great value on its own merit, and would highly reccommend it to anyone.
