The scale has proved to be excellent, after some confusion at the outset. The confusion stemmed from two aspects: the buttons on the actual scale received were slightly different than those on all of the online pictures - was it the right scale? Also, the name of the scale includes the words "and Nutrition"; however, the only "nutrition" capability is the booklet which accompanied, and which allowed the mechanical translation of weighed items to calories per gram - disappointing, if that's important to you. As a scale, though, (which is what we wanted), it is terrific - accurate, the tare feature works well, and - as others have commented - the large surface allows you to see the clear digital readout even when you have a large plate on it. After a month of service, no complaints with the scale.

batteries die
Scale works fine but the batteries go dead. The device is turned off but the batteries still die. You have to phsyically remove the batteries when not in use.

CR2 batteries replacement cost a lot
