Installation is easy, speakers are indeed waterproof having been through downpours, speakers are loud enough for me but can be difficult to hear at highway speeds.
Speakers are a bit gaudy being so large, brackets look big and stupid, music is tinny. Other Pyle speakers are smaller and have smaller brackets that look good.
I'd recommend buying a separate 3.5mm audio cable before installation since it sucks having to take everything apart to run a new audio cable. In general, 3.5mm audio cables are notorious for not working well after a short period of time, and the one included with this kit is no different. After a month or so, the right speaker wouldn't always work. I'd have to bump the cable around to get sound out of the right speaker at times. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it only worked for a minute or so before it went out again, and sometimes I couldn't get the darn thing to work at all for the duration of the ride. I've since bought a quality 3.5mm audio cable from Radio Shack for about $20, and it's worked flawlessly. Quality audio cables can be found on Amazon, of course, but I didn't want to wait for the new cable to be shipped.
