Product Description

DDR3 is the next generation of DDR memory. DDR3 memory features faster speeds, greater bandwidth, lower power consumption and enhanced thermal performance. Although DDR3 modules are the same physical dimension as DDR2 and DDR modules, the plug-in connector configuration is different and as such DDR3 modules are not compatible with PCs requiring DDR2 modules, and vice-versa. Boost the performance of your PC. PNY memory upgrades will prove to be an outstanding value now and in the future. Compatible With:DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333 MHz Bus Speed)

Gave me the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Jan. 8 2014
By James - Published on Amazon.com
I bought this item at Bestbuy for $64.99 cause it was a great deal and because I was building my first desktop PC. I originally wanted to get 4GB from either Corsair or Kingston because of all the great reviews but saw these 8GB for $15 more so I had to get them for the price. Who wouldn't? Well, when I powered my desktop on for the first time, I was really nervous cause I never built one and didn't want anything bad to happen, everything worked fine. My BIOS was showing the 8GB of RAM, my Samsung SSD was there, everything was flawless. After updating and getting all firmwares updated, I burnt a DVD. My computer got the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) and restarted. It happened at least 4 times and I had to throw away 4 dual layer DVDs. I was stressed out cause this being my first PC, I didn't know what it could be; hardware, software, did I plug something in my MOBO wrong, etc. So for a week, I didn't do much cause I was overwhelmed but then I Googled to see what I could find. There are soo many opinions and soo many options to diagnose I was overwhelmed. I noticed that when my computer do anything memory intensive, like moving my music folder (30GB) from my external HDD to my desktop or burn a 8.7GB DVD, it would get the BSOD. I read an Amazon review for this same item saying that you should test your RAM and that he too got the BSOD from these. So I did that. Took one out and kept one in, tested it, took it out and put it in the other slot to test it. I did it with both RAM's individually in both slots of my MOBO and never got the BSOD. I put them both in and I was guaranteed to get the BSOD everytime I do anything memory intensive. Went back to Bestbuy today to exchange for the Corsair Vengeance 8GB RAM (the blue one). So far, no BSOD and I'm testing it for the 4th time as we speak. I don't know what's wrong with PNY but both sticks of RAM give me problems when placed in together. I can't knock them because they both worked individually but together on my MOBO, I would get the BSOD. Hopefully, yours don't give you the same problem as mine.

Here's the spec of my PC -

MSI LGA1155/Intel/MicroATX Motherboard B75MA-E33
Intel Core i3-3240 Dual-Core Processor 3.4 Ghz
Samsung 840 EVO-Series 120GB SSD
Optiarc DVD+R DL Overburn up to 8.7GB
Corsair Builder Series CX 430 Watt
Phantom 410 Case

The RAM is now Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB and not giving me the BSOD.

Upgrade Feb. 15 2012

This is an awesome, and easy to install upgrade!!!! I was very pleased with previous PNY products, so I decided to "Max Out" my memory capacity. They are not only easy to install, but the heat shield surrounding the chip itself, actually helps speed up the processor speed by decreasing the possibility of overheating the chip. A+++

Good seller but Terrible product! March 27 2014

I gave two stars because the seller shipped it fast with no problems or damage. They also gave me a full refund and i didn't even have to go trough and hoops to get my money back. So great customer service. But when i got them of course taking every precaution to not damage the product. I put both 4 Gb sticks of ram in and turn my pc on only to be greeted by multiple Bsod's constant freezes and crashes. I am never buying PNY brand anything again and id advise you to do the same!

Well....it worked for 1 day.... Jan. 10 2012

Got the RAM quickly through amazon, as always, I opened it up, popped it into my computer, worked great for about 12 hours, then I started experiencing random freezing, then the dreaded BSOD. I ran memtest86+, confirmed it was a bad RAM stick. Don't get me wrong, I love PNY stuff, my video card is from them and it works great, but the quality control for RAM is horrid. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this one, spend a few extra bucks and get corsair, or G-skill.

Should Have Read all The BAD Reviews and Saved Myself the Aggravation Nov. 19 2012

The bad reviews are correct. They did not work for me either. I tried them in a Dell Optiplex 709 with I5. Both the Dell on board memory diagnostics and Memtest+ found a problem labed memory integrety. I was lured by the fancy package. Sent these back and got the plain jane Kingston Value Ram and as all the Kingston reviews state: KINGSTON WORKS!!! Buying PNY was a waste of my time. Should have read the reviews..................
