I came across Paderno pans when I lived in Canada where they are produced. The have 2 lines and I have always purchased the heavy duty line - they are nearly comparable to the All Clad line (of which I own a few pieces also). When I purchased them a number of years ago, their hang-tag mentioned that they were used by the chef on Air Force One who I imagine could use any pans he/she desired. I have now owned them for nearly 10 years, use them every day. I scrub them with abrasive cleansers, pass them under the broiler, have burned eggs in them, etc., and they still look nearly new. Amazing the abuse they tolerate. I would highly recommend them as a wedding gift as they will last a lifetime.
