I picked this up to read at a call handler station where they recommended a book, because I was temping on 3 slow days. I fully expected to be bored and knew nothing at all about Padre Pio before I bought it. I was riveted, I read all day and all night until i finished the book. This book details the life of a genuine modern-day Saint. It also details his persecution at the hands of people he obeyed, but they never daunted his dedication nor his faith. He is an amazing role model.

A story of a truly amazing man. What he endured through his life would send most of us over the edge. Through it all Padre Pio remained true to his vows and always obeyed. It is a story all people should read, now matter what their religion or belief or non-belief. It is a story of a life of a true Saint of modern times. A Saint who truly followed in the footsteps of Father Francis and Our Lord Jesus Christ. Being a person of faith and living that faith always, is a challenge. St. Padre Pio spends his life as a true Franciscan, faithful follower of Christ and the gospel way.
