Product Description

From Amazon.com

The Canadian Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year for three years running, Terri Clark isn't even close to anyone's idea of a diva. With Pain to Kill, her fifth collection of songs, she returns to her more upbeat side after the introspective nature of her previous set, Fearless. Here she proves that she's a take-no-prisoners type of woman who isn't afraid to have a strong side and tell you exactly what she thinks, while making sure to keep it country. Fans of Mary Chapin Carpenter and, perhaps, Emmylou Harris, may find a lot to like here as Clark in many ways, including vocally, takes a cue from their renowned mix of assertiveness, humanity, and winning melodies. --Jim Caligiuri

Album Description

Australian exclusive tour edition of the country act's 2003 album features 22 tracks including a bonus disc that offers a sampling of her earlier albums with ten extra tracks, 'Better Things To Do', 'When Boy Meets Girl', 'If I Were You', 'Emotional Girl'

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, Nov 8 2006
By
This review is from: Pain To Kill (Audio CD)
I won't say that this is her best CD, only because it would be so difficult for me to pick my favourite. This is certainly among the top three, along with "Life Goes On" and "Fearless" (I am including only her studio albums).

This album is filled with awesome songs. "Not A Bad Thing" is an extremely catchy song about a woman who discovers that being alone in life isn't so bad. "I Just Wanna Be Mad" is about a woman who is ticked off at her husband but knows that she is deeply in love with him and won't be able to stay mad for long. "The One You Love" is a very touching song about sitting helplessly on the sidelines while someone you care about ruins his life with alcohol (I've been the person sitting on the sidelines myself watching it destroy my partner and my relationship, so this song hits very close to home for me). "I Wanna Do It All" is an upbeat song about a woman who is sick of the daily routine of getting up and going to work and dreams about doing all the things she has ever wanted to do in life. "Better Than Me" and "Almost Gone" are also personal favourites.

All I can say is that this is just an incredible album. If you've heard any of her music and liked what you heard, you won't be disappointed with this.

I have been putting off on buying this album and now I am kicking myself in the ... for it. This is by far the best album that Terri has ever made. Every song is very good.
