Sam's bedroom is a mess. Lost among the piles of clothes and toys is his prized comic book. Donning his red cape, Pajama Sam dives into the chaos only to land in a strange and fantastic world that resembles his messy room. Pajama Sam sets off on a series of adventures in search of his lost comic book Ñ looking for lost socks in Agitator Lake, rounding up dust bunnies at the Dust Bunny Corral, exploring the Spilled Soda Swamp and much more. In the end, Sam finds his comic book and realizes that life wouldn't be so rough if he put away his stuff! Throughout the story, kids meet lots of interesting new friends and tackle fun challenges that will inspire them to solve problems in creative ways.

A bit disappointing, but workable,

We love Pajama Sam and the other excellent Humongous characters at our house. Unfortunately, if this game is an indicator, Atari has taken a successful, going concern and is trying to wreck it. Tough to accomplish from both a business and technical point of view, but they may get there. I bought this new game for my five-year-old son with reservations after reading many of the reviews below, and they're all true. HOWEVER, we managed to get it running reasonably well when we upgraded to a whizz-bang Dell with 74Gb diskspace, 1Gb RAM, Pentium 4, running Windows XP: Windows 2000 did not cut it. With the XP, the game does not freeze, and runs fairly smoothly, with only minimal delays in some scene shifts. Yes, the voice-synching is amateurish, and Sam's voice has changed. I've been interested to read the speculation on the reason for this. I think it unlikely that it is due to a child growing up. Undoubtedly Sam's voice, like Bart Simpson's for example, has always been dubbed by a professional voice-over artist who is an adult woman (whom I'm pretty sure I heard recently on a cartoon my son was watching). Perhaps Atari lost the voice-over talent too. This has not bothered my son, however. There's my advice - you need Windows XP and a Pentium 4.

I bought the new Pyjama Sam game without hesitation because the other Humungous games are GREAT. But this stinker was slow and froze our computer within five minutes. The game is unplayable. My son is crying and I am so angry that I spent $20.00 on this. It was his brithday present!!! And I can't return it since the box is opened. Don't buy this!!!

I, too, wish I had read the Amazon reviews before I purchased this for my son. The game is so-o-o-o slow, when Sam moves from scene to scene. The dialog is out of sync with the pictures. And the biggest drawback is that there is really only one game. The Shoe, Shirt and Socks are always in the same place and need the same things in order for Sam to retrieve them. The other games had variations to challenge our 4 year olds. I wish that I had never bought it.
