the HXDC10 is a little beauty if you are looking for a point and click that has great results. the intellegent auto makes a big difference in pictures that you may take at random say at a family gathering or wedding and what not. The turn around time from shot to shot is very fast. I like that, you don't have to wait for the flash or the preview to keep shooting.it's light compact and stylish. the upright grip makes for comfortable video recording and the camera is so light you can record without fatigue for a long time. the zoom toggle switch is a little bit small, so it could be difficult for someone with big fingers to operate. The BLS and ISO work beautifully and the face recognition really does make for flawless video. On video playback the volume is very quiet, even with the internal playback volume cranked. Hook it up to your TV and it's a different story, but play it back on the camera itself and you'll need to find a very quiet place to listen. the software that came with the camera is pretty slick too. It makes transfering and saving pictures and videos very simple. It also allows you to do some editing and effects which is a bonus. I've only had the camera for about a month but to this point I have plenty of praise and very little criticisim. Nice camera and a good deal to boot from amazon.ca at $225.00. I probably wouldn't pay more than that for this camera. Not because it isn't worth it but because you can probably find a good deal on it somewhere on-line and save yourself a few hundred bucks.
