5.0 out of 5 stars great projects April 23 2012
Format:Library Binding
My kids and I enjoy making things to decorate for the seasons. This book was very helpful in guiding us though various paper projects to do just that. The title stated that the projects were for 4th of July, but we used them in our homeschool history studies. They projects included would be great for an patriotic holiday or history lesson. The full color photos and easy to follow directions will make this a hit for parents and teachers alike!

4.0 out of 5 stars Snap, crackle, POP! July 9 2012

Paper Crafts for the 4th of July by Randel McGee (ISBN 978-1-59845-332-4)

Eight simple projects using basic materials (pipe cleaners and crepe paper, for example) will bring fun to any Fourth of July celebration or study. This 48-page book opens with a two-page explanation of the holiday as well as a table of contents. This book is part of a series entitled Paper Craft Fun for the Holidays. The ideas in the book could be modified easily to address other patriotic holidays like Veterans Day or Flag Day. A photocopier will be necessary to use the templates in the book, but the designs are simple enough that most crafters could do free-hand enlargements as well. Each craft includes a list of materials, a step-by-step procedure and full-color photographs of the work-in-progress as well as the completed project. I look forward to making the "Liberty Crown" project for my next Fourth of July party and getting young guests involved in the fun of dressing up! An index, bibliography, and list of web resources are included. (Enslow Publishing provided me with a complimentary copy of this book.)
