Product Description

From Amazon

"Here are Paul and Judy. They can do lots of things. You can do lots of things, too." Pat the Bunny is the original interactive, multimedia experience for kids. Virtually unchanged since its introduction in 1940, the kind tone and sweet illustrations in this classic recall a bygone era, while the simple language and large print invite kids to get interested in the written word as an invitation to thought and action. Each page shows Paul or Judy involved in an activity--playing peekaboo, smelling flowers, and, of course, patting the bunny--and then guides the reader to do the same. On the pages are a scrap of cloth with Paul hiding underneath (peekaboo), fuzzy fabric (the bunny), scented paper (the flowers), and five other now-famous features that invite a child to play with the book. As one of the bestselling children's books of all time, Pat the Bunny has become a tradition passed from one generation to the next to instill a love of books and reading. This gift set includes the book and a soft, baby-safe velour bunny toy that is loyal to the quirky bunny illustration in the book. Baby will love to take bunny along when the book has to go back on the shelf. (From birth) --Katherine Ferguson --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome classic, Nov 12 2002
By
Kelli Hughes (Austin, Texas United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is an awesome book and a classic! My 18 month old twin girls have really been into touch and feel books. This is definitely one of their favorites. It has soft textures, scratchy texture, and the peek-a-boo is their favorite as well as the mirror. It also has a scent page, which is great as well. The only thing I would change is to make it more durable. I've already taped it back together, and the comb binding comes undone easily when toddlers are handling it. It is still a great book, and I would recommend it to anyone with toddlers. At least it fits in my purse or diaper bag easily because it is small and lightweight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still the best, Dec 5 2011
I received a well worn "loaner" copy when my children were babies (now 30 and 28). I had to eventually buy them each their own copy and replace the "loaner" because we wore it out. Two years ago, unbeknownst to each other, we gifted each other with the "Pat the Bunny" Christmas edition (with bunny) to each other. Whenever friends have babies we rush to get them a "Pat the Bunny". Often the gift is received with an odd look as if to say, "this is kind of a lame book"; then about 2 weeks later they are telling me that it's the best book ever; and I get regular updates because "Pat the Bunny" never gets old and I mean NEVER; and remains the best baby book EVER.

4.0 out of 5 stars My son's favourite!, Oct 16 2011
This review is from: Pat the Bunny Deluxe Edition (Pat the Bunny) (Hardcover)
I was not impressed when I first received this book as a gift; I thought it was too simple and that it would never hold my son's attention. Boy, was I wrong... this is his FAVOURITE book! So much, in fact, that he loved the original to pieces, and I had to replace it with this!
All I have to do is recite the poem and he immediately settles and starts searching for the book. (He's 15 months)

This book deserves 5 stars... but I gave a 4 because of the poor quality of the binding.
Its spiral bound and he destroyed the first book by ripping it to pieces while I had my back turned.
With this one, I have to make sure he doesn't pull it apart or rip the little holes that the binding goes through. Poor kiddo loves the book, but he only gets to read it while supervised!
