5.0 out of 5 stars A real eye-opener, April 14 2000
By
Joanne Lagendyk (Ottawa, Ontario) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Patient No More: The Politics of Breast Cancer (Paperback)
Sharon Batt goes behind all the feel-good, superficial cheerleading hype so common of books written by survivors to get at the real story of the breast cancer industry.

We are there with her as she takes her first hesitant steps of rebellion against the received wisdom of her physician. We share her growing outrage at the way crucial information is withheld from breast cancer patients.

As Sharon digs deeper, we see the fascinating underpinnings of a system and an industry that prefers to keep its patients ignorant and compliant.

You will never look at breast cancer the same way after you read this book.
