Product Description

About the Author

Angela Kilmartin is a convent-educated, ex-professional solo singer in London whose career was cut short by seven years of repeated urinary tract infections (UTIs) and candida from all the antibiotics. Now, completely recovered for thirty-five years, she teaches prevention and self-help. She knows it all from the grief, pain, pills, and hospitals to the loss of hope, faith, love, and career, and then revenge. She has toured the United States many times for shows and lectures and sings twice yearly here too. Angela begs women not to allow urological surgery for infections but to accept self-help as the main preventive answer. She discusses many medical conditions that cause cystitis and UTIs and need appropriate medical attention. Overall this brave woman has made millions of women well just through her books and media work.

This book has been SO very helpful to me. There is an action plan that explains how to minimize UTIs when symptoms first start appearing. The UTIs that I suffer from are serious and bloody and extremely painful. When I first tried the 'action plan' I really didn't think it would work. It did. It was like magic. Every time I get an infection now I reach for this book and follow the plan. It really minimizes pain and speeds up my recovery. I recommend this book to anyone who suffers from UTIs.

An Absolute Must For Any Cystitis Sufferer April 25 2007
By A. James - Published on
Format: Paperback
This is the Bible for the cystitis sufferer. Excellent tips and tools to help you deal with the discomfort and pain but most importantly to prevent infections from happening in the first place! I used to get UTI's every six months like clockwork but since I started following the instructions in this book I've taken control and know how to take better care of myself. Don't just keep suffering - do something about it and this is a great way to start.

Very Informative Feb. 18 2010
By Nancy - Published on
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Having suffered from cystitis my entire life and only now that I am 38 figuring out that there is a name to this chronic problem, I am very relieved to know that it is not all in my mind and research has been done on the subject of interstitial cystitis. This book has answered a lot of my questions and some that I didn't know I had! I use it as a reference book and look up new facts whenever I am plagued by a new symptom or question. IC sufferers no longer have to live in the dark and suffer alone. They can educate themselves and feel confident in taking charge of their own health. I know I do! This book is the third book I have purchased on the subject of IC and I continue to educate myself as technology and research changes.

Just you dare! Aug. 16 2012

This book was helpful and informational but western medicine failed me for so long (this book is all western medicine) that I turned to a homeopathic/hollistic doctor which I highly recommend (do your research!). I was a sufferer of reoccurring UTI's for well over 10 years and no longer get them thanks to this type of doctor and the amazing diet and supplements he prescribed to me (not antibiotics!). My issue was mostly due to being over prescribed antibiotics and my unbalanced diet (too much sugar!). I cut out many bad things including sugar and processed foods and now eat natural, whole foods.

I know there are many different type of infections and reasons people get them and this book may be beneficial to some but homeopathy worked for me. And I'm so grateful because I really did not want to bring a 2 liter bottle with me to the bathroom to "bottle wash" every time I have to "open my bowels" or before and after intercourse. Bottle washing is an extreme personal hygiene method recommended in the book to prevent UTIs. "Just you dare" miss a bottle washing, she challenges, and you'll get a UTI.

In health, the body can fight off bacteria, it is not meant to be sterile.

Decent book for females, not males Dec 27 2012
By Russ Payne - Published on
Format: Paperback
This book is primarily a good sex and personal hygiene guide for females. Some of the information applies to men; little of it cannot be discovered through web research. The author finally focuses on cystitis in the last few pages
but the information provided is not especially profound. She mainly suggests testing for mycoplasma and ureaplasma and treating them with doxycycline. This is probably a good book for females but not males.
