Body of evidence

After months of menacing phone calls and feeling that her every move is being watched, successful writer Beryl Madison flees Key West when a terrifying message is scratched on her car. But the very night she returns to Richmond, she deactivates her burglar alarm and opens her door to someone who nearly decapitates her. Why did she let him in, wonders Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta? And why is Beryl's latest manuscript missing? Pursuing the answers involves Scarpetta in the murder of another writer -- Beryl's jealous mentor. While she copes with a variety of personal and professional problems, Scarpetta's high-tech forensic skills enable her to collect a body of evidence -- clues that would mean little without her intelligence, compassion, and imagination -- that leads her directly into a nightmare all her own.

Postmortem

Four women with nothing in common, united only in death. Four brutalized victims of a brilliant monster -- a "Mr. Nobody," moving undetected through a paralyzed city, leaving behind a gruesome trail of carnage...but few clues. With skilled hands, an unerring eye, and the latest advances in forensic research, an unrelenting female medical examiner -- Kay Scarpetta -- is determined to unmask a maniac. But someone is trying to sabotage Kay's investigation from the inside. And worse yet, someone wants her dead...

4.0 out of 5 stars Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta Series, Feb 15 2002
By Ann - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The First Scarpetta Omnibus: "Postmortem", "Body of Evidence" (Hardcover)
I have all of the books in this series. They are all very worth reading. Cornwell has developed an exciting and indepth character in Kay Scarpetta. If you read them by starting with the first book it is much easier to follow the story. Happy Reading.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cornwell, May 26 2009
By D. YEATS - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Patricia Cornwell Cd Audio Treasury Volume Two Low Price: Includes Body of Evidence and Post Mortem (Audio CD)
I love Patricia Cornwell. I have all her books in hardback. I did not enjoy this cd at all due to the female orator. She showed no kind of emotion while reading. It was very flat and very boring. I certainly would never pick her to read a book of anyones. I actually threw it away and money doesn't grow on trees here.

1.0 out of 5 stars A mighty mix up / mess, Feb 19 2007
By Simone Clarke "Ear worm" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Patricia Cornwell Cd Audio Treasury Volume Two Low Price: Includes Body of Evidence and Post Mortem (Audio CD)
Id say the story might be good but up to now I havent been able to listen to it because.

1 We all know Post Mortem was her first book but the way the stories have been put on this cd Body of eveidence is first.

2 There is no Gap between to say this is now playing the next story.

it says on the cd it starts on a certain number but Id say its not very well advised. I still havent found the beginning of the story and Ive tried 3 times.

I think Im going to have to buy them again seperatly.

Wasting money is not my favourite occupation.
