Photojournalist Gracen is a McCartney maven by avocation. In this neat rock bio, her photos take center stage, and the text describes the vicissitudes of various McCartney and Wings tours. The occasional rock road show revelation is definitely included. For instance, Gracen recounts the 12-minute film used to open concerts on the 1993 world tour. "This film showcased a musical history of the rock star with some never-before-seen footage of the Beatles, . . . home movies of the McCartney family, and some graphic scenes of vivisection, animal mutilation and torture." The latter were parts of "McCartney's ongoing campaign against animal cruelty." Yow! All that and silly love songs, too. Does the mop-top knight know how to put on a show, or what? Politics and gory visuals at rock concerts--shades of Marilyn Manson!--aside, this is a feel-good book for boomers. Uncritical and packed with pix and exasperatingly upbeat anecdotes, it is a must-have item for Beatlemaniacs. Mike Tribby

Jorie B. Gracen specializes in entertainment, editorial, and public relations photography. Her celebrity photos have appeared in People, Rolling Stone, Newsweek, Cosmopolitan, The New York Times, and a dozen other major publications. One of her best-known photos appears on Paul McCartney's Tripping the Live Fantastic album. She lives in Chicago

I really love this book. Jorie B. Gracen is an outstanding photographer and, like Paul's late wife, Linda Eastman McCartney treats her work and subjects with respect.

She has wonderful anecdotes with each photograph and in reading this delightful book, you feel as if you are taking a trip down Red Rose Speedway with Paul McCartney! This is SUCH a treat! I really love it!

I have had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Gracen and hearing her speak. She has an incredible collection of photographs of the former Beatle and his immediate family that make for a very special experience indeed.

Jorie B. Gracen also has a strong social conscience. She has contributed to breast cancer reasearch as a nod to Paul's late wife, Linda, who died from the illness in April of 1998. This generous gesture makes the work even more poignant; Gracen and Linda also shared a profession and an interest. Just knowing this makes one respect Gracen all the more.

Please read this book. The photographs are outstanding. You will be very glad that you did.

It will be very hard to find the right words to describe the pictures in this book, but I will try!! Jorie Gracen was able to CAPTURE PAUL THE WAY I SEE HIM!!!!!Her pictures are the BEST PICTURES I HAVE EVER SEEN OF PAUL!!! If you are a Paul McCartney fan you will love the way the author/photographer is able to make you feel like you are sitting in the FRONT ROW!!

She has great little stories to go with each photo, what is going on at that moment, the song he is singing. There are also some great interviews and stories from fans just like us that have seen Paul in concert or had the opportunity to meet him in person. For me it was a way to see all of the magic and excitement surrounding this great musician and man!

I think another thing that is so admirable about Ms. Gracen is that she will be donating percentages of HER own personal money to Breast Cancer Research in memory of Linda.

I feel that not only does her EXTRAORDINARY TALENT shine through as a FIRST RATE PHOTOGRAPHER with this book, but also her geniune love and respect for Paul and Linda.

Jorie Gracen captured Paul better than ANY other photographer I have ever seen! She has a way of showing us Paul McCartney they way WE AS FANS SEE HIM!! She even let's you know what is going on at the time the photo is taken, what song he is singing, the event he going to. You really do feel like you are there! Over 200 GREAT PHOTOS, color and black and white.

There are also stories from different people sharing their experiences at concerts and also meeting Paul. The excitement just completely takes you over as you see the wonderful pictures and the stories that go along with them. IF YOU ARE A PAUL FAN..THIS BOOK IS A MUST!!!!!!!!

You will never see Paul any better than this. Experience the magic and beauty of this man through the eyes of this WONDERFUL PHOTOGRAPHER, JORIE GRACEN!!!
