SYNOPSIS - From the moment Trip Price is hired by a charismatic financial firm, danger, intrigue, romance and murder accompany him on a volatile voyage sweeping the principal ports of the world. Corrupt double-dealers, pay-for-play, passionate desires, and life-threatening encounters permeate the non-stop thriller as the urgency of survival binds and drives our characters into volcanic relationships.

How can one man, entrapped by insidious evil, conquer crippling fears and disrupt a deception imminently intended to annihilate our way of life? The thriller Peak Experience will rivet you pagebound as a financial monstrosity and far-reaching tentacles of international subterfuge become as plausible as the lead stories on today’s headline news.

2.0 out of 5 stars Did I read a different novel? Jun 24 2009
By Solipha - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
There was a certain amount of tedium involved in reading this book. For the first half, the "action" (and I use the term loosely) is stuck in LA. It plods along until you finally board the world's largest cruise ship that is (ridiculously) full of dangerous "bad guys" bound for exotic ports of call and extreme sports. This, I thought, must be the turning point. Sadly, the story begins to sputter out as the author closes off any avenue that might prove interesting - no direct engagement with the bad guys, no excitement of setting, no catharsis of Peak Experience. As for the exotic ports of call, perhaps the author has not actually visited these destinations because he is unable to convey the sense of majesty, beauty and mystery associated with any of them.

The characterizations are generally cardboard stereotypes. Arguably, the most development is given to the main character who is not much of a protagonist. The story seems to move forward despite any of his actions (or inaction). He is painted as a series of contradictions and is not very likeable. I just couldn't find myself rooting for him. By the end, I just didn't care.

3.0 out of 5 stars The fine line between fraud and making money... April 28 2012
By Cheryl M-M - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This started out initially with a quite a good idea conceptually. Showing how a financial pyramid scam works and in this case the firm has an eery Scientology feel to it. The reader is shown how the line between morality and money making often becomes skewed. Unfortunately I think the author got a little carried away and it ended with too many cooks in the kitchen or in this case a multitude of government agencies, terrorists, private investigators and those are just the good guys. I felt there were too many things going on at the same time, which made it unbelievable instead of the something I could relate to. It was also a little long winded and could have been made more compact.

5.0 out of 5 stars Are You Sure This Is His First Novet? Feb 1 2009
By Clyde H. Snider - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Don't get me wrong! It's not perfect! But it is very well thought out and, because of the plot twists, does a great job of keeping the reader alert and wondering what will happen next. We not only get a terrific story with plenty of action and suspense, but we also get to dip our toes into various cultures as the USS Pinnacle King, filled with terrorists and government agents, circles the world.
