Rosalind has been a fine mother to her sisters Jane, Skye, and Batty for four years, ever since their mother died. So when her Aunt Claire visits with a blue letter for her father, written by her mother, Rosalind can't chase away the sense of foreboding.When she finds out that her mother's letter suggests her dad start dating again, Rosalind quickly calls the sisters together for an emergency MOPS - a Meeting of Penderwick Sisters. Together they hatch the Save Daddy Plan, designed to ensure that they will never have to endure a stepmother. As their father begins to suffer through the torture of dating, the sisters become involved in complications of their own. Skye and Jane get tangled up with homework while playing soccer in perfect sync. Rosalind struggles with her own boy problems involving the Geiger brothers. I thought, "The Penderwicks On Gardam Street" was very interseting near the end. It is exciting to know Mr. Penderwick [Martin] and Iantha are finally getting married, but before they did the Penderwick girls always went over to Iantha's house to discuss thing's that are going on that they can't tell thier father. Iantha would always listen to them and give the most advice as she could. Iantha loved it when the girls came over with more to talk about. The ending seemed more exciting because of course Mr.Penderwick and Iantha got married, Tommy and Rosalind kissed each other on the cheek, and said that they should start dating when they are thirteen, if you want to find out more I'd recommened you read "The Penderwicks On Gardam Street".

Even better than the first book, this is a great read aloud for all ages. It is light-hearted and full of mischief, while affirming so much of what can be good about life as a family.
