5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Hardcore Black Metal Jan 3 2009
By Pawnurface - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
1994 was a big year for Black Metal and this album is one of the best. The line up here was Hat on vocals, Infernus (ex-Borknagar) on guitar, Samoth (ex-Zyklon, Emperor) on bass, and Goatpervertor on drums. This is raw, tough black metal, there is none of that symphonic stuff here. It is not a blast beat record either. The sound and rhythm is more reminiscent of hardcore punk and thrash metal but it is unmistakably a raw black metal sound. It's just awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars pentagram Mar 11 2010

music that emphasizes strength, heroism and adventure. it is therefore destined to be marginalized by bitter drones whose lives are regimented into eat/sleep/work/consume/mate. recommended if you have what might be called a soul.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be a bit stronger Feb 7 2012

Don't get me wrong, I really do like black metal, and I think these guys are great in general. The main thing of which I have to complain here is that I could barely hear the vocalist over the guitars and drums. It was just a bit weak, as I see it. If you compare it to anything by Dark Funeral, you would know what I mean. I just wouldn't really recommend this to anyone who is new to black metal. But other than that, this album is a pretty solid effort by a rock-solid band.
