This product has some great parts. The quality of filming, animation, and speed was great. The only thing is I found that the acting was a little cheesy and didn't have a sense of realness to it.But all together, I really enjoyed the movie, loved how the did the monsters and weapons, and would recommend this film.

I had read the original series, and I love it...I would choose both Percy and Harry Potter, for my top 10 fantasy series.I had wanted to see the movie when it was in theaters, but it went out, so I'd waited 'til it came out on DVD. I'd watched it and I thought it was really awesome; I did not like some of the negativity on it. The film (as you all know), is about teenage Percy Jackson who seem to be an ordinary teen; until after a monster attack at the museum (a Fury disguised in his English teacher), he found out he is a son of the sea god Poseidon. And have been accused of stealing Zeus' master lightning bolt, he finds himself caught between angry and battling gods, he and his friends embark on a cross-country adventure to catch the true lightning thief, save his mom, and unravel a mystery more powerful than the gods themselves. So anyway I really love this film; even if there were changes to the characters.

This was a fantastic movie for a family night. My daughter loves it (7)- though there were some mildly scary parts, so I wouldn't go much younger than that.The SFX were pretty good, the plot line was funny and touching. It touched on an interesting part of being both a teenager- and a parent. Rebellion and Protection, and the tensions that exist between the two. My only complaint would be that after watching the deleted scenes, I wish they would have left them in! Can't complain overly much about the acting involved. It won't win any academy awards, I don't think, but it is certainly at the level in which it was intended- simple family fun. As always, I strive not to give anything away, but my review? Order a pizza, grab a bag of chips, and settle the family in for a good night at home!
