Perfect Harmony contains two stories by Nora Roberts. They are listed in advertisements and on the back of the book, not the front, as classics, so hopefully romance readers know that means they are reissues.
They are both stories of women who have for different reasons rejected love but are totally and hopelessly loved by the handsome man who is determined to win their affection.
`Unfinished Business' deals with a world renowned pianist who returns to her home town to find herself and perhaps answer the question of why her mother let her go and had no contact with her during her growing years and concert tours. There is of course the former teenage rogue that she was madly in love with and is now the town doctor; but he hurt her terribly. The truth and other unexpected romances bloom and secrets not told for years help her find her real self.
The second novel, 'Local Hero' is a bit more cloying and improbable than the normal Robert's story; but it's still entertaining to read. A mother moves into a new apartment in New York with her son...new job, new school, new neighbors. They include the creator of the boy's favorite comic character...of course, who is also handsome and rich. He becomes totally enchanted with the boy and the mother, but she cannot believe in marriage and wishes never to be hurt again. How can happiness ever be found again?
These are romance stories that readers of this genre might enjoy as long as you remember they are not new. `Unfinished Business' was published in 1992 and `Local Hero' published in 1988. So if you have never read them or want to read them again and experience some of Nora Robert's earlier works...here they are.

Unfinished Business
Vanessa Sexton used to know what she wanted...glamour, fame and applause. At sixteen, answers were simple and dreams were cheap. But at twenty-eight nothing is easy. Not even going home. She misses her mother, but she can't even say the word mom. She wants peace and space to figure out the future, but rational thought is impossible when she's around Brady Tucker, her first love--her only love. Everyone wants a piece of her, but how can Vanessa give herself away when she's not even sure who she is anymore?
Local Hero
Hester Wallace is proud of her independence. She only needs one man in her life--her nine-year-old son, Radley. But when Rad starts idolizing their neighbor Mitch Dempsey, Hester begins to wonder if she's been cheating her son out of a male role model he desperately needs. Hester would do anything for Rad, but inviting Mitch into their lives is dangerous. Because she might start to rely on Mitch--on his comfort, on his humor, on his passion. Or worse, she might fall in love with him.
Two great stories that show women overcoming fears to gain real love.

I found I had already read both books in this title though under separate names. This is a bad habit that the publisher has gotten into. They take books from the past, put them together with a new title and sell. For those of us who have read alot of Nora Roberts books, it is confusing. I paid for a book I had already read and am not happy about that. I did enjoy the books initially.
