Product Description

The songs on Perfect Time For A Breakdown were written by Sharon and her collaborator, Scot Sax, who co-produced with Mark Howard, noted for his work with Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and Lucinda Williams. The album's 11 tunes were inspired in part by numerous cross-country train adventures Little and Sax have experienced over the past two years; those journeys further strengthened a musical and personal collaboration that began in 2006 with a meeting at Milkboy Coffee Shop in Philadelphia. 2008 finds Sharon Little as the opening performer for the Robert Plant, Alison Krauss & T Bone Burnett tour for the remainder of their Raising Sand North American Tour. The nine additional dates include stops in Sharon's hometown of Philadelphia, Nashville and her first international date in Toronto, Canada.

New Star Emerges July 3 2008
By Bob - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
'Perfect Time for a Breakdown' let's you hear Sharon Little's incredible range over the combination rock and blues music she co-composed. Soft, Powerful, sometimes Joplinesque, her music grabs you from nowhere and brings you to attention - and you stay there. I saw her at the Greek theatre in L.A. opening for Robert Plant/Alison Krauss. She walked out to a half filled blasse audience - and walked off to a standing stunned crowd. The next night, I was fortunate enough to see both perfect performances by Stevie Winwood and Tom Petty at the Hollywood Bowl. But the CD I listened to on my way home was Sharon Little's. - Her recorded music is great, but see her live - she performs.

If you have a heart, you'll want to hear Sharon's Little's heart! May 31 2008
By Jeans Jewels - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
The only thing better than a CD by Sharon Little is seeing her perform live! She is a masterful songwriter and a moving & courageous performer. Sharon willingly allows each song to take her over and she becomes all of the longing, fear, joy and heartbreak in each one. I grew up on the music of the 50's 60's and 70's and matured on the best of the what's been out there since and I gotta tell you, I never heard better or been moved more by any other singer/songwriter. She is simply unique and has a gift for sharing a song that is unparallelled. Get everything of Sharon's that you can get your hands on. Before the first song is over, you will be calling all your friends and telling them they gotta hear this woman sing!

Follow That Sound Sept. 16 2008
By Jorjygirl - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I first heard the song "Follow That Sound" on "The Cleaner" on A&E. I loved the sound of the song and the artist. I immediately went to Amazon.com and ordered it. Usually, when I do this, the song that led me to order the CD is the only one I really like. But this is a good CD. I like most all the songs. Sharon Little has a good voice and I really enjoy her music.

Best New Artist Grammy Contender July 8 2008
By A. Fulks - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Sharon tore the house down in Columbia MD with her bluesey sultry sound. Her range reminds me of a cross between Billie Holiday and Janis herself. She is quite the entertainer and is worth seeing. Her conversations with her audience showed her humility and gratitude, two worthwhile virtues today. She deserved the standing ovation and more. I bought her CD and just love it. Not a bad track on the entire CD. Sharon, I hope you go far:)

The girl knows how to sing Aug. 28 2008
By William Moore - Published on Amazon.com

The girl knows how to sing. Her phrasing is excellent. I am a natural born sucker for a come from behind success story anyway. Sharon was working as a waitress in Philadelphia to make ends meet and her self-produced CD was passed on to Allison Kraus and Robert Plant and they immediately contacted her to offer the opening act assignment for their current tour. She knocks the crowd out with feeling, sensitivity, sincerity and energentic "Give it your all" performances. It is most often a standing ovation. I don't think that she will be waitressing any time soon. Unless it is as a hobby. Sharon writes her own material and wrote all but one of the songs on her recent CD, "Perfect Time for a Breakdown". You know there is a personal story connected to each song. I don't have a favorite song from the album, how could you? I usually feel that, from experience, that if four to five cuts on a CD are good it was then worth the price. On the first play, I kept thinking that "This is the one that I won't like". That never happened, I hit the "Repeat" button, again and again. I was in the car at the time and missed my exit and had to drive 23 miles out of my way to get back on track. The next time that my wife was in the car with me I began to select certain cuts that I felt confident that my wife would enjoy. She touched my hand when I went to cut a song off and select another of the "I know that she'll like this one" category and she said "let it play through-I like them all- How could anyone have a favorite? We missed our exit...again !
