Where did media art come from?, Feb 28 2001

This review is from: Permanent Flux (Hardcover)
Four artists give their own perspective on the birth of media art. Permanent Flux contains collections of video and experimental film from the 20's that help you explore, and make your own opinion to the origin of media art. I have used this cd in my classes to show my students what a good work of multimedia should look like, and to explore the fields of media, film, and art. Rarely can you find a work of multimedia that works so well. You can navigate in many different ways, making this a useful tool that you won't get bored using. And sometimes its interesting to hear Laurie Anderson tell a tale or two. As it is so hard to find good material to support the history of multimedia art, this work is important to have while there still are copies, as DE balie is a small publishing group.
