5.0 out of 5 stars If this is the bible, I look forward to the religion, Jun 11 2009
By Liam Herringshaw (St John's, NL) - See all my reviews
A fantastic book full of inventive, dark, disturbing and hilarious comic strips. Nick Gurewitch is a unique talent and the Perry Bible Fellowship should be brought to as wide an audience as possible, if only to emphasize just how tired and unfunny most cartoon strips are. Buy it!

My only caveat would be that the PBF Almanack has a lot of overlap with The Trial of Colonel Sweeto and Other Stories, so if you already own the latter, you may decide you don't need both. However, if you only have to choose one of the PBF books, get this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Hilarious, and Disturbing., April 4 2009
By notatoad (Alberta, Canada) - See all my reviews
If you're looking at this book, you've probably already read all the PBF comics. They're all here in this book, and as awesome as ever. Don't expect too much else though, there's a few unpublished strips (with an explanation as to why they weren't published for each), 2 pages of rough sketches, the interview with David Malaki that you can find online, and 1 paragraph each by Nick and Diablo Cody.

The stuff you can't find on the web is not the reason to buy this though. Buy this because it's a beautifully crafted permanent archive of PBF. The satin-smooth matte cover with an embossed title, the heavy, hand numbered pages with just the right amount of gloss, the red ribbon bookmark, everything about this book just makes it pure class. Your friends will be impressed when they see it on your coffee table. And then shocked when they flip it open.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and classy, Sep 14 2009
Hardcover, good impression! This book is really good looking, the strips are just good and the humour is dark and ironic. That's just a great product, for the litterature aspect and the material aspect.
