This review is from: Personal Training With Jackie: Power Circuit Training (DVD)
i've done a lot of circuit training dvds and i have to say this is one of my favorites... the moves are relatively easy, although if you use heavier weights it can get pretty difficult.. i use 8 lbs and have noticed immediate changes in my shoulders, hamstrings and abs (primarily).. the dvd description is somewhat inaccurate, it isn't 4 sets of 15 mins training + a 40 minute, the 40 minute is simply all of the 15 min circuits minus the warm upsi usually do the 40 minutes in the morning, and it is very easy to go through. i would recommend this to anyone who wants to tone and build muscle mass in addition to what they already do for cardio jackie isn't annoying to listen to, and she gives adequate instruction, telling you how to modify or what NOT to do, so it's fairly easy to understand each move almost immediately the thing that i most enjoy about this dvd is that the results are almost immediate, it's incredibly easy to understand and do, and the 40 minutes pass by in a flash

This review is from: Personal Training With Jackie: Power Circuit Training (DVD)
First off, I like Jackie Warners DVDs in general more than Jillian Michaels (Jillian's tend to be harder on my joints/knees, since she's a big fan of jumping jacks and jumping rope). Here's my review of Power Circuit Training: PROS: -This DVD consists of 15 min upper body, 15 min lower body, 15 min abs/core -OR you can 15 min total body workout (this seems appealing, but honestly you need to do more than just 15 min a day from a DVD to really get in shape and see good results) -OR 40 min which is all the 15 minute upper/lower/abs combined (it flies by pretty quickly so this is still good if you are short on time) -lots of strength training moves (upper body movements with weights, squats/lunges, pretty good ab workout) -a decent workout for beginners, I was sweating and a bit sore the next day -pretty good on your joints so if you have these issues; there's not really much jumping around CONS: -not much of a warm up/cool down time but you can do that on your own -Jackie moves a bit too quickly so you have to watch for a moment to get the right form; I also don't think it's good to go that fast, it's better to go slower and more controlled when working with weights so you really feel the burn -almost NO cardio in the workouts! if you are looking for a complete workout (cardio and weights), look elsewhere (i.e. her One on One training DVD) -might not be enough for those who are more experienced, I didn't feel as if I got as "full" a workout as other DVDs -YOU WILL NEED: -dumbells, she recommends lighter and heavier ones, you should be using enough weight to feel a burn (I'm 5 ft, 115 pounds, I was using 5 pound weights, I'm pretty weak) -a gym/yoga mat or at least a carpeted area I also have Jackie Warners "One-on-One Training", which is similar to this DVD (that one has 20 min upper/lower/core, 60 min total), yet I like that one more since it contains cardio in between all the strength training. I recommend that one if you are looking for a more "complete" workout. Overall this is a pretty decent workout - I really like Jackie's voice and look, she's not annoying to listen to or watch. It's a great starter DVD for beginners or to add to your workout collection already. However, if I ONLY had this DVD for workouts I would need to personally supplement it with daily jogging or walking. Her One-On-One Training DVD has more exercises in it (it's a slightly longer DVD), so if you're going to spend 13 bucks you might as well get one that has more moves in it.

I was a little nervous to buy this dvd because I thought it would just be more of Jackie trying to market her sky sport and spa but it really is a great circut dvd! The warm up and strech are lacking but really those are things you can do on your own and don't really need any direction. The 40 minutes Flew by!! The ab moves were different and so I wasn't sure if I liked them at first but I definatley felt them the next day!! All and all I would say this is a great workout dvd and I would reccomend adding it to your collection :)
